Brand new cutting is wilting badly...
So my friend just took his one cutting about 20 hours ago and plugged it into a pre-moistened rockwool cube.
It's under the humidome, it will be misted a few times a day, and is at 25 degrees. It is under one 20w cool white floro placed directly on top of the dome. The problem is after a couple of hours it went limp and fell right over. It's a long story as to why but he is using floros to veg, and I fear that because of that the stems may not be strong enough to clone from (there aren't many thick stems aside from the monster main stock). Any advice would be greatly appreciated |

Use a cocktail stick/matchstick or whatewver to prop it up.
Take 2 or more clones- clones are cheap.

So you think it would be best to take 2 more, use the one that roots the fastest and just toss out the other 2?
K, that's the new plan. Many thanks Last edited by TheGrandPuba; 02-08-2010 at 04:02 PM. |

Also, I'm doing my best to follow this guide A batch of clones in rockwool - Grasscity.com Forums
but this part makes no sense to me 'It is important that the rockwool fits tightly around the stem. Some cubes are not very dense in some parts of the cube. Test the density of the rockwool by touch and plug the stem in the densest part of the material. Some cubes collapse when you try to plug a stem in them. Discard cubes like this. The air gap between the stem and cube will prevent proper rooting.' Is he saying to plug the stem into a spot other than the hole provided? Would you guys recommend this? I just realized there is a little gap between the cutting and the cube so this might be my problem. I also realize I could have just posted on that forum but I like you guys better ![]() I'll only post there if I have to |

yeah they're talking about air bubbles. If the cube has a hole in the middle of it the bottom of the stem might end up in it so not be able to draw up water. Or even get an embolism
