so i was checkin out my ladies, theyre a week into 12/12 and are getting bushy as hell. i posted earlier about fan leaves and was told to tie them down to make more room/air flow. when i was watering i noticed some lower fans had white powdery mold spots. Its been raining here. humididty never got over 63% temps 65-73 depending on light time. through research i noticed its not to bad if you catch it early. so heres what i did.....
i spread out my plants (still in good light) so their not touching have more air circulation now in the room i put some things i bought at home depot that lower humidity and mildew in there. cups full of weird stuff, i will post the name of the cups. humidity now is under 60% for all of today so far and the lights are off so thats a good sign. should drop lower once the lights on. ![]() okay now to treat the existing mold spots.....ive been told hydrogen peroxide mixed with water, as a topical spray. then wipe clean. also been told to remove the infected leaves. so what should i do, id like a home remedy so that i dont have to go buy some special spray, so let me know. thanks!! if you need a pic ill post one, but its white powder spots p.s. i dont want to do a sulfer burner, i will be moving soon and will have a new grow room. pics?
I'm curious about the stuff at home depot that says it lowers humidity. How many cfm's are the fan that exhausts the room? Veda posted up that recipe with the hydrogen peroxide...is that the one u saw?

ill get pics tonight, i have to wait till 8pm. so im curious to try the peroxide, i looked for veda? and couldnt find any recipes. how much and often do you do it? heres one pic i took yesterday of the improved spreading out so their not so close but as you can see theyre packed in there, its purple urkel and blue cheese in the room. and now day 2 of those cups and the humidity was only 57 the whole day. i have an 8x6 growroom, with a 400cfm(overkill, i know) exhaust fan, then i have one fan drawing air from outside and 3 more little fans in the room 2 of them i put on the ground in the sea of green so they can gently move the base fan leaves more.. okay so check back later tonight ill post the humidity cups pic

once you get rid of it neem oil is a great protector against it. I think water kills the spores, but if you spray too much that could just invite other molds or mildews...

oh my god! that's really bad!
I'm sorry to inform you man but lowering humidity won't do anything at this point. I had PM last grow during flowering and it was never even that bad! You have to stay on top of it or it will get out of hand. If you don't get a product specifically made to treat PM you might lose your grow. The more it grows the harder it is to get rid of the next time around(next grow). I had to bleach down and change all the plastics in my grow room and surrounding room because of it. edit: what are you using for "spray?" Last edited by José; 03-03-2010 at 11:02 PM. |

so the pic was the worst plant.... the others werent as bad but non the less 3 others have it too. so i was using h202 spray but i called the hydro shop and they said they have a spray for PM and a bomb for the room to kill the spores. so theyre both fairly inexpensive and since there is no "bud" yet, mind you only flowering for 1 and a half weeks, they said i can spray and theres a guarantee on the spray. also i think because of the rain the last couple days the humidity was outta wack, since the rain has gone my room humidity stays constantly in the 40's. so if the bomb works or the spray i think humidity shouldnt be a prob.... thanks for all yall imput

pic update
i used that bomb, kept my fingers crossed, and it seems to have worked, i was freakin out because the bomb killed pretty much every fan leaf with PM on it, i called the hydro shop and they said its going to look worse. so after about 3 days i went in and pretty much just (slightly)picked off all the dead leaves, if they didnt just fall off then i left them for the next day, the bomb stunted the plants for about 3 days but theyre looking great now, and no mold or mildew ,its all the same, anywhere. so dont know how it will affect the harvest.
