seedling isn't looking good

So my friends seedling looks really bad for being almost 2 weeks old.

The cotyledons look ok but the little leaves above have started to twist and turn yellow/brown. I'm thinking this might have been because he was under watering at first. He is now giving a proper watering every other day. (50 ml's for a 459ml pot)

The seedling has been in the same closet as a rooting clone and I think that having the temp at 25-26 degrees combined with only watering 20mls every other day has made this baby upset. The temp is now 24-25 for what it's worth.

The only bright side to the story is that it looks like some new leaves are forming on top, but they are forming extremely slowly.

Any advice is greatly appreciated. I posted this over at grasscity and someone said it was over watering. I'm so confused

No idea without pics but-

The key to watering is the weight of the pot.

Plants' hydration needs change according to many factors- giving them the same amount every day isn't necessarily the best thing.

you should never have to water a seedling every other day, more like once every 5 days with proper drainage depending on temp and RH.

I guess it's either over-watered(suffocated) or else the wrong pH. 7.0 pH kills seedlings I've found out. It has to be 6-6.5. Seedlings need air!

Thanks for the replies guys, I don't really know if I can get access to a pic.

I guess it is overwatering. At least it's not dead yet.

I thought you were supposed to water when the soil started to dry out slightly, not completely. Does this apply to plants in veg/flower too? My friend has had decent success with watering every other day up until this seedling.

I also remember Sureshot back in the day saying that plants liked a watering schedule and not to just be watered at random times, I could be wrong though.

Here is a pic on day 15, it's march 5th and it hasn't been watered since the 2nd. The soil is dry on top, it will probably get a drink today depending on what you guys think

That pot is big for a seedling. If it does get overwatered it will take a long time to dry out. Apart from keeping air from the roots this can also lead to a pH drop in the soil,

Watering every day is fine- but you only need give the plant as much as it needs.

In that size pot I'd probably only water every few days- the seedling isn't going to be using much water until it gets bigger.

the soil looks like it could have too many nutrients in it for a seedling IMO.

I'd use dirt out of the ground in your backyard before you use a random kind of potting soil, that's just me though.

Mine look exactly like this except for the color. Mine are also at 15 days. I'm curious as to what the next step is. Is the plant stretched? They were started under flouro's. This is my first grow. Is it now time to move them to my 400watt H.M.'s? Can I still recover? My ph is at 7. Please help, I'd hate to lose them if I can save them. Thanks, peace.
