Yep, theyr dead. Its pretty pathetic honestly. They didnt even get outta the seedling stage

I guess you cant learn from your mistakes til you make them.

Alright, so you say you can't learn from experiences until you make them...

Well what mistakes did you make? What went wrong? What will you do next time to prevent the same thing from happening?

Jock horror is basically the same genetics as jack herer, i believe. Northern lights, skunk, & haze. They just gotta call it a different name.

But yea i was getting to that spanky. My plan was to veg 3 plants indoors for about a month then move them outdoors. So i germ'd 3 jock horrors and they sprouted fine. I had them in those little jiffy peat pellets and planned to transplant them into fox farm soil once they grew outta the pellets.

I assumed i could leave them by a window the first few days and collect up whatever sun came through. Well turns out they stretched something crazy and before i realised... the stem was about 4 inches tall with the 4 initial leaves real small on top, right?

So i moved them under my lights ( 4 cfls =7000 lumens) in an area about 3' x 2' . very small. But all the lights did was make the tiny little stem top heavy, after about a day. And they began to fall over and go limp.

I should have transplanted and put most of the tall stem under soil to make it a little sturdier once i noticed. But theres no saving them now

If I were you I would have stuck small dowels near the stem and just use a twisty ties to hold them up till they get more roots before you transplant.

But then again I've never had them stretch that much though, that could have been an inevitable death.

I thought that in the first beginning sprouting stages it wasnt good to give them full light? But i guess they need enough not to do any stretching?

Also....

I had 4 cfls about 3 or 4 inches away from the pellets, plus a fan in the general area. Those pellets would dry up soooo damn quick, i dont think they had enough water.

Next time im gonna try germing in soil in a small pot that wont dry up real quick like the pellets

No, that's only pertaining to HID lights. You can't give seedlings too much light with CFLs.

Why were the lights so close if the stems had already stretched 4 inches? You didn't even give the plant enough room to grow. Which the lights could have been too close to your pellets and dried them out. Or you just didn't pay attention to them enough.

well the reason i had the lights so close was because i didnt want them to stretch any further. Plus with cfls, everything i read, they need to be basically as close as possible without burning and stuff like that...

Im pretty sure there was a small window i could have saved them after the massive stretching. They looked healthy/nice green shooting straight up. I think if i buried like 2 inches of stem in soil then they could have survived. but i waited too long i think. Once i got them in the soil i had toothpicks for support but they were so flimsy by then .....

when you say small towels near the stem... you mean just like a damp paper towel surrounding the stem on top of the soil?

Dowels ie small sticks to tie them up with. The most stretchy of seedlings can be saved this way.

Sorry to hear the jocks bought the farm.
You may want to get a propagation tray with a clear plastic lid- this will keep the humidity up for small plants if you have them close to the light in peat pellets or rockwool cubes.

I usually germinate in small pots of potting mix (about half pint) about 1 ft under a 200w cfl with a small fan not blowing directly on the seedling.
The fan will trash them if blowing directly at them, also they will fry if too close to a 200w flouro. But more light and a breeze will stop stretching
