Self sustained grow box
Ok i have a computer with a fire wire port and am useing it to run a switch now i have set up a program to turn the lights on and off with the switch. i have a electronic water valve and i would like to use energy efficient light bulbs but i am limited to three fixtures. I have a plant that is only about 2 feet tall and the one i cloned it from is only about 2 and a half feet tall so my box is 3 feet tall and 2 feet wide. and im wondering if the bulbs will provide me with the full amount of the spectrum or will i have to add another light to my box.

Might be better to start with a smaller clone- depending on what strain you have, you'll almost certainly run out of space if it is 2' tall now.
Typically a cannabis plant will double in height during flowering, some strains will grow a lot more. Low light levels will cause plants to stretch. How tall is the plant pot you'll be using? Are you going to use soil as the growing medium? If so probably better to water by hand rather than using an automatic system- it is fairly easy to overwater with soil. Coco coir or rockwool might be better for an automatic watering set up. If you get the biggest domestic type cfls you can get (about 27w I think) 3 of them should just about be enough to flower 1 plant. If you are growing in a restricted space study low stress training (LST), a technique where the plant is tied down gradually to create an even canopy and keep height down.

i have to recomend a small high intensity discharge lamp for this app. Even a 250 watt high pressure sodium will cost you the same in power bills and give you much better flowers! My biggest piece of advice is to make sure there are no light leaks at all in the box, and i mean ANY light leaks, even the smallest amount. Use a soiless medium such as peat moss mixed with perlite for airation. Provide all nutrients in small amounts everytime your plant is dry. Top your plant heavil;y and it will start growing outward and stop growing upward.Keep your temp. as close to 75 degrees as possible for maximum phototropism. Good luck!!!
