AAAAHHHHH!
I'm using yo's quote here since I'm sad and unglad, but at least calm and reasonable. Thanks farmergiles for the advice, I'm following it to the letter and in yet another development leaves that were yellow and rubbery, have now started to turn purple. I now wonder if I haven't been expecting to much on a grow where I didn't even know the strain I started with. (It's random bagseed remember?)
Also after having an excellent conversation with my partner, we concluded that since we skipped about 8 weeks of veg, we perhaps stunted the growth and went to flower too early. Is this possible? I'm ending week 17 overall and the Ph level remains constant at 7 even with the vinegar treatment. Would any of you advise increasing the amount or is there another way to lower the Ph? As always thanks for all of your assistance, I'll take week 18 pics tomorrow and get them up for examination, they look wild. The Afghani's are robust and healthy as far as I can tell. I look forward to hearing from you soon. Peace.

In my unexperienced, almost useless opinion of the matter, maybe you tried too hard at some point?
Cause from what I've always read, pot grows pretty easy, maybe you did too much tinkering with it? But regardless, its your first grow and it looks like you'll get some yield out of it so just be glad you got the knowledge you gained, smoke your reward and give it another shot. ![]()

![]() Purple stems might indicate some kind of stress but they might well just be the way the plant expresses it's phenotype. Pictures will help.. Quote:
Flowering is of a (pretty much) predetermined time between 45-80 days usually, though it can be a lot more for sativa strains. So basically, it's up to you when to make the switch from vegging to flower when you judge the plant to be big enough for your purpose. Quote:
If you're ever passing by a hydro store you could get some pH down (usually phosphoric acid I think).

PH
Still having Ph problems, using the "Ph Down" and it works well, but plants shoot back to 7 within the day. After 8 weeks of flower I'm calling it quits and harvesting...better luck next time. Peace

You probably learned some valuable information that will help you in the future. No grow is lost and you brought them through alive.
Congratulations!!!!! ![]() Cold will stunt the plants. I would rather a tad too hot than too cold me self. Plants need less nutes than you think ![]() a fan will negate the need to tie babies. Let em fall and pick themselves back up, they will be the stronger for it. I really liked your thread, thank you.

I have a question. What did you mean the plants are going back to a Ph of 7 within the day?

That would explain it.
Milwaukee 600 pen. Ebay sells em for 21.95 all over the place. Check Ph of your water/nutes and then check the runoff, tell you a lot about the mix you are using.

The Harvest
Been a long and educational road, thanks to all of you that helped. I must of waited too long to segregate the males since I've got some seed production in 2 of my sativa's and 1 Afghan. I have "wet" weights of 200g, 230g, for the Afghani's, the 4 sativa's average approx. 150g + or - some grams. Peace

Somehow I missed the harvesting pics until just now, Nice One!
Did you get them nicely cured? How's the smoke?

Cultivation!
Quote:
I'm still in the curing stage, the fruit is still on the vine, so to speak. Saturday the harvest will hit the cans...man! I'll ship out a final weight yield and my test smoke date will be around 10/23 or so. I have 5 patients I'll ship the yield to if it all turns out (Sorry brother Dandaweedman). Right now the Indica's are sick with sticky goodness, and though I'm somewhat disappointed with the seed production, the bright side is I've got a Indica/Sativa blend or vice-versa. ![]() I'll be filing a overall final post to wrap the entire grow after the smoke test, but no matter the outcome I'd of never gotten this far without you guys. And while all contributed in some way or another, I'd of given up were it not for the council of famergiles & stoneric. Thanks so much guys, I love growing and look forward to helping patients anytime I can. I can't wait to plan my next grow. My goals are now to max out the potential of the indoor garden, but I'll settle for a problem free cycle for the time being. Then I'm itching to try Hydro & maybe even a outdoor guerilla grow. Talk to you all soon. Peace
