my 2nd grow and i need help
this is my 2nd grow and look at these plants and tell me whats wrong. I have one soil and 3n1 dwc setup. I discovered root rot, beginning stages rather and cut the roots off and letting them grow again. My soil grow is ok i guess, but the newer leaves look puffy and waxey looking, what is that? My dwc plant was growing ok till i foliar feed it, with half nutes with lights off. Im guilty of not letting the plant do its thing and not tampering with it. I have read good things about foilar feeding, but it hasn't worked at all for me. It always burns my leaves. My plants are in their 4th week. Can i start to flower? I know im gonna have diminished yield, but can I get something from them. I haven't smoked since March and I'm really wanting something to smoke. The hardest thing for me is to sit back and not do something. Im paying the price now. Anywayz, I would like somebody opinion. After the last foliar feeding, the dwc plant leaves shribled up. I live a hour and a half from a hydro store and ordering soiless mix online is wayyyyy too expensive( 40 for soil and 100dollar in shipping) what about the coco bricks? All I have access to is a walmart, and all they have is miracle grow organic and other stuff. Also what about the nutes walmart has, miracle grow? Right now im using fox farms, but im wondering can I cut down on my cost. I got so much to say and ask. help

Id say check the ph of the soil, then see if maybe nutrient lock is your problem.
If spray feeding them is causing problems, then stop. Then...above all else...stop being impatient and let your plants grow, the BIGGEST problem with new growers is OVER care. |

When you say you tried foliar feeding with half stength nutes- what nutes at what concentration was that? You say it burns the leaves- this shouldn't happen unless the nutrient solution is too strong.
Looks like nute burn or nute lock up. pH may be a culprit. Are you monitoring the pH in the dwc? The one in soil growing straight up- this is normal with some genetics- the plant grows towards light, if the light remains above the plant the plant grows straight. LST (tying plants down) will encourage lateral growth- do some research on lst. Also look up some "cannabis preflowering" example pics- once your plants have shown preflowering you can flower them anytime- if you try to flower them before they show this might just confuse them. Also you can remove the males, unless you want seeds of course. Bear in mind they will want to double or more in height while flowering. I don't recommend miracle grow- everyone who tries it seems to struggle and even when people have completed successful grows they complain about the harshness of smoke. If you can't afford or obtain posh soil from the hydro store then any random potting soil from a garden store is probably better than miracle grow- almost certainly cheaper as well. Just make sure it is well aerated, slightly acidic (6 - 6.5 pH maybe) and not too rich in nutrients. Making your own mix would be the ideal economic solution, something like this maybe- how-make-mj-trees but if you are looking for an easy solution hydro store bought substrate and nutes will give better returns than mg, trust me.
