What is the smallest you can harvest a plant?

I'm very much interested in the Sea-of-Green technique (that's just my impatience showing). So I'm wonderig... and I know this is n00b... what is the very soonest that you can harvest even the most minimal amount of buds from a plant?

Do you know about the flowering time?

Flowering is triggered when you switch from Summer type lighting hrs (18hrs of light or more per day) to fall type hrs (12 hrs light 12 hrs darkness).

So if you have a rooted clone you can put it into flower and it will be ready for harvest (all going well) once the flowering time has passed.

Seedbanks list the flowering times of given strains but take their claims with a pinch of salt- they often quote unrealistically.. A quick strain might take 50 days, some go as long as 150!
M39 is a semi legendary quick strain which only takes 39 days.

N. B. I said rooted clone. You can't put a seedling into flower until it has shown preflowering- typically this might be 21-30 days from seed. So to run a good SOG setup you need to have a source of clones. Clones are easy to make yourself but of course that means more time and messing around for the initial set up.
