Would anyone care to help me along the way?
Im growing inside my room, which is about 9'x11', so there isn't that much space to start with. Im planning on not using hydroponics, just some soil. Could someone possibly teach me the basics about what I should know? Suggestions about lights, what type of container it should be in, the different cycles (germinating, flowering, etc.), how long should I give the plants light, when to transplant if needed and how, how often should I water them and anything else would be very appreciated.

How many plants are you looking to grow? How big is your budget? Do you have stealth constraints?
Read (what's left of) the FAQs, also Greg Green's cannabis grow bible is a mine of useful info.

I'll be sure to check out the FAQ but Im using my ps3 for this so I cant read Mr. Greens pdf file. Also, would I be able to use regular potting soil like miracle grow or something similar and add perlite/vermiculite/worm castings to it and use it as my medium?

You're going to have to make a light tight space for them in any case otherwise light leaks during lights off in the flowering stage will cause problems. A 250w HID light would be ideal for about 4 plants, flouro's are cheaper and generate less heat but don't quite have as much poke. You can make your own medium like you said (perlite/vermiculite/worm castings) but I really don't recommend miracle grow. Decent homemade compost is fine as an alternative but maybe sterilise it in an oven first to kill nasties. Any decent branded soil from a hydro shop should do, it doesn't cost that much.

I'd go for more space tbh, bear in mind you have to fit in the lights, fans etc.
I'd make a box from ply.

I'd make the closet the grow room. Line it with plywood. If you can , I'd bring in fresh air from the bottom and exhaust out the top. 8 sq feet can handle a 400 watt lite system as long as you ventilate. Personally I grow 1 big plant in a room a little larger than 8 sq ft with a 400 watt lite system and there is no room for anything more. If you want to grow mutiple plants in that size room you'll have to keep them small.

I cant really find a better area other than my closet except for the 1 foot gap between my bed and my wall, and next to my dj stand that has the same space but gives me almost 3' of clearance but i doubt that is high enough. How do I make my plants small? Ive heard of topping but never really took the time to figure out what it is, I read somewhere on here that i can tie the branches down too. I have a rough sketch of a grow box I want to make so I'll attatch that once I get a decent pic of it so I can get some input.
How long does germination take? I know I'm not fully prepared but I'm eager to plant them already. I have 3 seed tucked into a moist paper towel inside one of those plastic ziploc bowls with the lid you press in the middle to seal it and I have it sitting under the corner of my bed since last night. Would it be fine if i used these to start out with or would i need something bigger? Can i cut up some cardboard and use them as walls once it starts growing so that its still ''out of sight'' but I can have a light in it?

Ok so i redid my room while keeping in mind how i wanted to have everything set up but that wasnt possible so now i wont be using my closet. Instead im using a much smaller space next to my dresser. Its less conspicuous which is great but i can only grow one plant in that area which is how itll have to be. Its about 16''x18'', i strongly doubt itll work but if someone thinks otherwise please say so. Any tips on how to set this one up?
Im thinking about suspending a small 25 or 250 watt flourescent fixture and putting a small fan at the bottom and another at the top for exhaust. What could i use as a tent or box that isnt suspicious? I really want to just say fuck it and build a cardboard tower and make it look like boxes stacked on top of each other when it really has a 4 foot plant in it.

I dont really have a place to grow. The way my room was built is weird and doesnt provide useful space so Im using any available option that I feel comfortable with. Imagine a 9'x11' room with a picture window thats 5' wide on the 11' side, a closet that extends back 2' and is 4' wide on the 9' side and on the other 9' side is my door in the corner. Now imagine a full size bed taking up more than a quarter of my room and a corner TV stand (mounting and removing asap). Thers almost no usable floor space.

Don't use cardboard- it's an obvious fire hazard. Think about potential risks from fire and electricity.
It's most uncool to kill yourself or anyone else whilst gardening.

Im not gonna use ceiling space, way too noticeable.
Can someone provide a link or two on what light I should get? It has to be small but still provide adaquent light. Im not trying to buy anything online either.

But can i still use that fixture for the flluros even though it says incandescent?

Did some shopping and got all my stuff. Sadly when I went to check on my plant it was laying on its side and its two pedals were really yellow. So i transplanted early into a jiffy strip and added new soil. Should I even bother with growing it still? I was worried, and I still am, so I took the other seed I had planted a couple days ago and did the same.
