hey everyone its great to be here first off, i was going to join grasscity but forget it.. i just have a few questions guys and would really appreciate the help. my first grow i planted a arjans haze 1 its week 2 and is ready for transfer. its been garage grow with a small pot underveggie lights.. i know the next step is to start feeding the plant but i have no idea what kind of food how to feed etc and after i do feed the plant do i continue to water with regular water right after??or wait.. i get confused is the plant food always sprayed or can you put it on top of the soil too??
kinda stuck right now prolly obvious if u guys could get back asap thanks!!!!!!

If you're still vegging feed it with something high in nitrogen, if you're flowering something high in phosphorus. Yes you still want to keep watering as well.

What was the N-P-K [nitrogen - phosphorus - potassium] ratio of your soil?

hey kompressor thanks for the quick reply, but me being nugsforbains threw the original soil bag away and i don't have any left. im going to the garden store 2morrow. or if you could recommend something online for food for veg? im sorry i started it in a shotglass... not a pot my mistake

A shot glass?

It needs to go into a pot with holes in the bottom for drainage. If the roots cannot get air they will not thrive.
Start with a small pot- as the plant grows pot it up into bigger pots.

Don't worry about nutrients just yet- it's a bit early.

I'd strongly suggest doing some background reading.

Here's what I'd do.....I'd start with 10-52-10......mix a tad stronger that the manufacturer suggests.

Transplant into a larger container and hopefully she's going outside?

i got bigger pot and some moisture control fertilizer from miracle grow its all they had at target its the only ride i could get, and she needs to get out of the shot glass quick. will this stuff work fine for now? the ratio is 0.21-0.7.-0.14 that's how it says it on the package. just waiting till 2morrow morning to transfer to her new pot..

dunno about those ferts......they are in a liquid form right?

well.........if someone u know can go to wal-mart or....canadian-tire to get some ferts i mentioned, she will survive in the meanwhile.

transferring to a way bigger pot is more important at this point than anything else.

hey pharm girl i couldn't find any liquid ones it looks like a regular bag of soil to me i got the ratio from the ingredients it wasn't on the front or anything it was on the back very small. i am so confused with the nutrients and fertilizer/soil right now?! should i use the new soil i bought for now just to transfer it until I get a ride to walmart says on the bag it feeds the plants for three months.

believe it or not farmergiles the shotglass worked great ill be sure to put the pictures from the shotglass shes lookin real strong and healthy and ive always waterd lightly and waited till soil would dry i have read some of the cannabis grow bible and i know that the roots can rot without proper drainage.
dont give up on us.

Stay away from miracle grow and that time release shit. Just find some organic soil at a local nusery or wal mart, if you must, and transplant into that. You shouldn't have to worry about fertilizing for a week or 2. Any reputable company like Fox Farm, Bio bizz or Eartjuice products sell good nutes. If they're not available locally, you can order online and they'll be there in time for when you should need them.

the ferts i'm referring to are in powder form.....folks say to stay away from miracle grow....i say the opposite....use the 10-52-10 at the beginning until they are say 10 inches tall...then u switch to 20-20-20 for the vegatation period....some stay with that...i seem to switch to 15-30-15 for the blooming, but i do add guano, molasses, nettles....

many companies make ferts...newer to my area is a co. called 'mykes'...

how do you add nettles as a fertilizer? I have 'em growing all over the place by me..

here's what i've done.....

to remove the plant without gloves you must only pinch the plant at the very base...otherwise use gloves.
then.....dry them in the sun.......once dry...........boil water....say 3 gallons on the bbq.....add about 1 dry pound of nettle............le t sit until cool..........


strain and it's ready to use....also very drinkable for humans....high in B vits.





et voila.......

everyone thanks for the advice here's a picture update like i promised. this is my first actual grow some parts look white, i think its reflection because the plant looks fine. but i did add some soil activator a few days later after biobizz root juice and liqfertz. could this burn the plant??? its been one night so far.

Over fertilizing is a no-no. IDK if you burned her yet, but be sure to get a regular feeding schedule down. Also, be sure not to over water. We all know that Mary loves her H2O, but she can drown like everything else. When the soil is dry a couple inches down and the pot is significantly lighter, thats when you water. Find a way to test the soil pH because if its off the plant can't utilize the nutes available, making it seem like a deficiency.

ferts wont be doing anything for the plant at this stage, other than possibly killing it
the soil contains enough nutrients to veg such a small plant, so back off with the ferts dude
that plant could get pretty big, how are you planning to grow it?
