rootbound..
A few of the plants I have have gotten to the point where they're outgrowing the pots I transplanted them into from peat cups. I'm thinking that's what's causing some of the lower leaves to yellow and die. Is there anything I need to worry about when transplanting them again? I'm going to use the same soil mix as I've had them in for their entire grow and just use some larger containers. Part of me is concerned with the fact that the majority of them have begun to flower and I don't want to stress them out too much and get hermys

Well as far as the roots go, make sure you pull some roots loose from the ball and this will make sure they're pointing to right direction anyways. That could effect nutrient up take for sure, and perhaps some one can add something after me.
I'm not sure what to do about your flowering issue, I could postulate since it might think it's as big as it can get, it had better start doing it's job, ya know what I mean? People may ask what soil/nutrients your are giving it, but I feel sure some dancing space for those roots will do the who system good.

after i pulled the first one out of the pot today i saw the roots were starting to grow in a circle around the bottom so they def need more space.. i got some bigger pots and may yet even put them directly into the ground. i'll try to post some pics later today (my computers quite old and idk if it will let me upload pics from the camera to it)
what do you mean by it might postulate? the upper portion of the plant is growing fine, the fan leaves on 3/4 or so is healthly looking but the bottom 1/4 of the leaves are all yellowing and looking really sick. would this mostly likely be happening from it being rootbound? would it start to affect the lower portion of the plant first? |

For the educational part of the day, just to make sure we're on the same page
![]() Postulate: Noun: A thing suggested or assumed as true as the basis for reasoning, discussion, or belief. Verb: Suggest or assume the existence, fact, or truth of (something) as a basis for reasoning I just 'figured' that the plant postulated it was at the end of its roots and had better start doing something. And while I don't have vast growing herb exp. I have worked in greenhouses, landscapes and gardens for the last 7 yrs. It's probably dropping the bottom leaves because they aren't useful and there isn't enough nutrients being taken in, because of the roots, to support new growth. I think pics are good and it's hard to speculate... well actually it's all to easy to guess ![]() But I think a new pot or some good worked in soil will help their cause immensely. In the end what ever Farmergiles says is Gospel I say! Jesus would come to FG for tips is what I'm saying!!!! ![]() Good luck mate.
