1st problem for 1st time grower
I have 3 plants which have been growing for a week without any problems. They're on my patio at the moment until later on today when I setup my grow area. They get an adequate amount of sunlight everyday, but I would like to get then under my lights ASAP. Its pretty hot where I'm at. One of my plants 1st set of leaves curled up and seems to have turned a brownish color. (I'll upload pics today) I'm thinking heat stress?? The other 2 seem to be doing fine. I started them off in 3 gallon pots (bad idea?) because knowing me, I'll mess something up trying to transplant later. I'm using Fox Farm Ocean forest soil. I'm letting my water sit out 24 hrs before giving to plants. Is this an issue that I should be worried about considering that they'll be out of the heat soon? Or is this dealing with deficiency of some sort?? All info is appreciated folks!!!

Yeah I would have started in smaller pots personally- they are happier if their roots just about fill the pots otherwise the soil can get stagnant in the unrooted bits which makes consistent watering tricky. As a rule of thumb a vegging plant needs about as much volume of soil as the upper part of the plant occupies above the soil, or maybe a little bit more to grow into. So if you had some plastic cups or similar small sized pots these would have been ideal atm. Potting up to bigger pots is easy when the plant is ready because the roots keep all the soil together. I'd carefully move the plants into smaller pots now but this is a little more tricky as you have avoid trashing the roots too much. I'd use a knife to cut out the cylinder of soil around the roots of the plant and try to get this into a smaller pot in one piece. If you do pot into smaller pots, do it straight away before the roots grow any more. What lights are you going to use?

The temp mid-day is 100+. I'm waiting on my conversion mh bulb to come in. I've moved them inside on a window seal where they can get all the sunlight without the extreme temps. I'll cut out the plant and transplant to a smaller pot today. Once they're in a smaller pot, at what point will I know that its time transplant?? How much longer do I wait before feeding them as well?? Thanks

And ocean forrest has plenty of nutes, no need to feed for a couple of weeks. And when you pot up into more ocean forrest, you shouldn't have to worry about nutes then either. At least for awhile.
