lol "those flowery things" good one man lol.

of course you can keep them but i'd advise against keeping any males as they can totally seed your bud.

if you need seeds for next time you could save your best male to pollinate your best female. pollination is simple.

if you need clones i'd take them off that main sexy lookin' purple plant! what is that Nirvana Chrysalis? (aka la confidential)

the budding plant with the solid yellow fan leaves is okay i think, that's probably just from flowering.

is this an indoor or outdoor grow?

Wink nps

wow you are very lucky to have easy access to ready to go purple plants i am green with envy!! nice pun i know.

Us fellow Yahookans can help you identify males females and hermaphrodites with quality pictures. see what you can do to get a few close ups of the branch nodes and any white hairs or banana balls you see on the plant. from what i can see so they are all females. the girl with the yellowing leaves i mentioned in my first post looks to have some aphids or something eating holes in the leaves. see what you can do to get pictures of any ailments, deficiencies or abnormalities so that the community can help you identify those as well.

if you have no idea what you are doing read everything you can in "growing the good herb" and if you are really noob/ novice check Yahooka's Comprehensive GrowFAQ 2.0

.../Growing the Good Herb/ is where I learned 90% of the knowledge i have and use today to grow.

if it frosts overnight put a blanket on top of them. i do that for tomatoes and stuff so they can continue to ripen as it gets colder.

Oh damn i thought he had some purp goin

Mikey are those indoor or outdoor? if they are outdoor you will want to get them inside at night or as Fenderbender suggested in a greenhouse, which would be ideal considering how far north we are.

yes inside at night for sure! the second it gets light out in the morning put them outside and the second it gets dark out put them inside

the blanket idea seems viable although i have never tried it.

when they are inside for the night i'd have a small heat fan blowing on them or electric heating pad under them on low. however i don't think this is necessary for the plant's survival.

and if you are thinking about ferts i would ask dan what he thinks first .

good luck, good grow.

the blanket is for frost if they are planted outside. since they are in pots you can just bring them in. if you have never done this trick you obviously don't garden far enough north

If you have any males, it's probably too late to prevent pollination. I think I saw 4 females and 1 unknown (male?) in the first pic.

The blanket idea is if you leave them outside when there is a frost. The blanket prevents water on the leaves from creating freezer burn.

The point here is the temperatures. If it is too cold out, leave them inside or harvest them. It doesn't matter when the sun comes out. It matters when the air is warm enough.

By "the flowery ones" do you mean these?

They be boys! They've probably already pollinated the girls (you know how it is ). I'd ditch the boys.

Agreed with everyone here saying keep them warm at night- apart from the risk of frost burn, cold temps will reduce your harvest.

I'm quite partial to the looks of the purple one Mikey.

Hey Mikey, those plants look nice for free weed! Its hard to tell, but if you have a decent magnifying glass, and you know what to look for, you can tell when they're ready. When you look at the trichomes, they're at their best when they are in the shape of a stalk with a ball on the tip and they turn either milky white or amber, depending on the weed you're growing. Looking at the pictures, I'd hazard to say...another month outside if they can stand it.

Here is a picture if an immature trichome (the shiny stuff on the bud) zoomed in close. http://www.marijuanapassion.com/foru...640666&thumb=1
The shape is right, but see how its clear? Not quite ready.
However, in this picture they are opaque, ready for harvest. Some strains go milky white, like white widow, and some go amber. http://www.gardenscure.com/420/attac...ich-stalks.jpg

IDK if you could get a close enough view with binoculars, but with a decent magnifying glass, or with a digital camera with high quality zoom shots they're not too hard to see.

How about this instead??

Before the sun rises you need to hose down the plants so they dew on them don't freeze....you use a spray bottle.....I'm afraid of blanketing....I would use a tent-like structure though!!
