here goes another

so im gettin ready for another indoor grow, cool enough i dont need the AC anymore... so im looking into de-humidifiers... its been rainy here and will probably continue so for a month or so.... my room is 8x6x8tall, drywall and a 400cfm inline fan as my "air extractor" ive had PM in the past but im done with that BS.... whats a good brand for the size room i have, ive looked up some but cant find that one that jumps out at me..... im lookin like 100 dollar range so let me know, im gonna run to the hydro shop tomorrow or tuesday and check in but if i can find it cheaper online, they will match prices. ive tried putting a oscollating heater in there that keeps the room around 75 to 78 just so i can keep the humidity down. but id rather keep it in check with something ment for that.... thanks in advance

ohh and the club ill be getting clones from gets them from OAKSTERDAMN, i will be picking up some white widows, GD purps, and 1 other..... they pretty much have it all there so what are some good strains..... ive seen LA conf. around these forums and i know they carry that... any good?? i would like a purp or some kind of "couch high" relax weed. so any input is good input, thanks..... will get pics when its up and running.

Yeah 400 cfm should be plenty enough for 8x6x8. Inline fans are pretty good cost/quality. If noise is critical a (more expensive) sound insulated box fan will work well, if noise isn't an issue at all squirrel cage fans are cheap and move a lot of air.

You can end up spending a lot of money on kit if you want to get everything set up perfect ventilation wise...

Dehumidifiers work fine-

But in some ways keeping night time temps up by using a heater works better as the relative humidity is kept low because the air is warmed- whereas just using the dehumidifier night time temperature may well drop low enough so that growth is slowed.
Of course it is best to have the heater either timed to come on at lights out or on a thermostat (one capable of switching enough current for the heater), otherwise the fan and the heater will be fighting each other when the lights are on.

I believe the temperature is most critical at the roots, so you could insulate the pots (give them woolly jumpers ) or use heater mats- the possibilities are endless.

But for sure you are right in thinking humidity is very important, not only to avoid PM and budrot but also the plants need to be able to transpire.

Edit LACon is pretty good if you don't mind a long veg time (though the pheno's do vary a fair bit).

Giles.... again thanks

ok so my heater is a newer, osculating one with a controller and a thermostat. so keeping the room at a nice even temp is no problem,(read in JORGE sav. books that you should have a 10 to 15 degree temp drop between night and day) my thing is, this is a different room than u used last year at this time.... its rainy and monsoonish here now.... my room is all still setup and the thermostat is still in there... this morning for instance it registered 59 degrees and 67% humidity. now with the light, fans, and everything going it shall be way different but thats just the room sitting there dark and lonely with nothing in it (plantwise)

and as far as the veg LA conf.... how much longer veg we talkin?? cuz doing all them at the same time id like some kinda uniform..... hahaha in a perfect world though right? damn just typing this is gettin me pumped for my next ones!!! wooo hoooo!!

I havn't read Cervantes' book but I think ideally temperature should not drop more than 10 or 15 degrees at night time. So the ideal temp for daytime is about 75F- I don't think the plants would mind staying that warm all night at all.

One thing you can do is time the flowering so the lights are on at night and off during the day. This should even out temps and humidity a fair bit.

I'd say maybe an extra 2 weeks to a month-ish in 3 gallon pots with the pheno I liked. They don't stretch hardly at all during onset. Some of the other phenos were quicker but weren't as good smoke. See what they say at the club- they should know what they've got.

Having the day and night temps the same will speed growth for a short period.
After that period it will slow them down to a level below the norm. If you can get the cycles right you could lose up to a month off veg.
If you ever get it locked, show me how

Interesting. Any idea why? I keep as steady temp as possible in veg because I often have clones or germing seeds in there.

It's been so long I forgot.
I read it years ago, can't remember where but I think it was maximum yield or one of the grow ebooks I have on disc.
I tried to test the theory out but tough to do without a control room.
