Please Diagnose
It struggled as a seedling. It has made it to this point. However the new growth appears to be struggling with something, The new leaves are thin and folded inwards...(see pics) I have corrected a Calcium def, a week ago. Same growing conditions and practices, as my first successful attempt.
Any advice would be helpful. Most appreciation, chefyD |

Thanks, Dandy I'm havin' trouble finding that Cal-mag stuff. Which is what I wanted, I do have some Epsom salts though. Do you think that will suffice?
What do you recommend? Last edited by chefyD; 12-14-2010 at 01:57 PM. |

Epsom salts are ideal.
Try about 1/2 teaspoonful per gallon water.

Thanks 2 All I would think you would have to give it way more than any sane person would to OD it...LoL I have used it as a foliar spry also. Found some calmag today see how it goes..stick with the Tbs. per try starting w/ 1/2 Tbs. and go from there...Peace |

Too much of anything will lock things up and fork up the ladies n gents.
The usual is 1 tsp per gallon. Mix it in a little bit of hot water till the epsom granules disappear and then add it to the rest of the gallon of water. I find myself using anywhere from 1/2 - 1 full tsp. per gallon.

cal mag is good but be careful you dont burn your plants with it, i also hear that cal mag is a hydro product, also theres something in the cal mag plus that makes some growers head for ze hills, lets see ill look at the back, its iron EDT. i dont know why but i just remember some organic growers not liking it. but i havent had any probs. good luck.

Calcium and magnesium are minerals. They could be part of an organic compound but I don't think that's the case with the stuff people usually use.

Teaspoon best for a gallon, you could go higher in soil for a one off dose but be careful of lock out.

oy... when I mix it, I use a TBSP per gallon...(Medium- a lovely soilless mix of peat, perlite and molasses water...sometimes kelp, sometimes castings, sometimes lime.. depends on what's on hand.)
Course...I can burn them with that mix too if I overdo What did you fix the cal def last week with ChefyD? |
