how to keep clones in stand by

hi guys

here we are with my question.

I own 7 clones of white widow but actually my 400HPS lamp is busy with their mothers who are on the second week of flowering

The 7 clones are now ready to be placed under a growing time 18/6 lamp, but I have space only for one lamp who is already busy.

I recently put the clones in tiny pots under 18/6 hours 15W neon light, on my idea that will keep the clones on stand by for the next 8 weeks when the 400HPS will be busy to make flower their mothers. As soon I will cut them, I will put the clones on a bigger pots under 18/6 hours with the 400HPS.

What do you think about that? Do you have any suggestion about this situation?

They might stretch due to low light levels.
Did you mean neon light or flourescent?

I mean neon light, like that one.

they don't look like stretched, but they already are making the leaves with 5 fingers, they are small, but in a regular shape

To be honest I've no idea if that light will work or not. Let us know how you get on.

Neon lights is new to me too. I briefly looked it up and one site said they were good for veg growth, and one site said they were bad. So, idk.

My gut says that FG is right, and they might stretch due to low light. I would put them on a 24/0 schedule myself.

Keep us posted, please.

Neon? New one on me as well.

Low light levels are different than the lights being far away and most of the time slows growth more than causes the plants to stretch in my experience.
These plants can live quite some time with low light levels.

(using ole fart voice)
A while back I cut a boy but left the lowest leaves accidentally. They were about 3/4" long, one on each side of the plant.
So much the same it was like a mirror image so I left it like that in the pot and would look at them every now and again, sitting there in the semi-dark entry chamber
A couple of months and they did fine with very little growth.

Looked perfect up until the day I cleaned up... ahem
