Question getting materials together

SH Hydroponics, Inc. > Dual Spectrum 65 High Output Fluorescent Light Kit sorry if link don't work. I'm going to be tinkerink with my first grow soon and have a lighting question. I'm only 18 and on a major budget. Would this light work for a 4x4 room\closet op? I'll be going soil for the 1 or 2 plants. I have vent, fan and routing set up thru dryer vent system. I'm getting off topic here so any imput of lighting system?

fuck that..

huge rip off.

Just go buy some CFLs of both spectrum from any store and a couple lightbulb sockets from any hardware store for a fraction of that price.

same thing.

whats your budget? you can get a good 100wat big CFL for about 50 bucks and those things kick ass.

Around these parts a 42 watt CFL is $14.99CAD so that's not a bad deal.
I have those same reflectors lol.
I use a couple in the cabinet but you're better off getting a cheap fixture that will let them put the side to the plants.
Better light that way.

One of those will be fine for 4 plants through early veg, later on you'll want more.
And lots more for flowering.

I'd divide the closet in half. Have one 2X2X4 section as the main grow room. I'd section the other 2X2X4 into 2 equal parts. I'd use the top part as a seedling cabinet with the 42W flouro Dan mentioned and the bottom part as storage for supplies. Save your money and buy a 150W HPS mini system that would be perfect for 4 square feet. Check e-bay, you can get one for around $70. Try growing one plant at a time, a mature plant will fill a 2X2 room quite nicely plus it's so much easier to learn with just 1 plant to worry about. Of couse if money is too tight I'd do the flouros but I'd still section it off. Oh, and paint everything flat white.

E-bay? Is that gonna looking funny shipping wise? So I'll check out the hps bc it sounds like I need more power or w/e (whatever).. The closet is about 6Lx3Wx6H but @ 5ft it has a built in shelf. It can be removed if needed.. My budget for a light is under $100 if possible bc I'm poor lol I'd honestly be happy with a couple short stubby, yet hefty girls. I'm not gonna sale just smoke. I don't get online much really bc my service is slow but I know a guy on here who can answer most questions. Thanks guys and sorry for the delay

Ps how much electricity spike should I expect with 150 watt hps?

about 162 watts, or the same as 4 40 watt light bulbs.
In other words, they won't even notice that.

During flowering, about the same as leaving a tv on for a few hrs a day.

I don't think so. Buying a single lite shouldn't arouse any suspicion. A semi full of 1000 watters may raise some eyebrows.

officialy jacked thread

Ok this thread was started by my guy but his pc is now a ghost. (Soda pop) I've know monk for about 18 yrs now. I went to his place took a couple pics and some legit measurements.

Internal Specs:
Width- 70inches / 5ft 10in
Height- 94in / 9ft 10in
Depth- 24in / ??any guess??

He's going towards a soil grow, 1-2 plants, and on a budget. He wants to box in a section of the closet off, and attach fans to the plywood.
Crazy Blazers Idea
These are crap I know but work with me. The idea is to leave room between top of grow box and closet ceiling for the air to escape.

Questions we have at the moment.
1. Should we bother closing off part of the closet? Its mostly too keep light out/in,stealth, and an idea we have on fans.
2. On the whole closing off part.. Ventaltion idea mount the fans to the box as shown, heat exhuast fans on top suckin air out, and fans on 2 sides of the box to blow cool fresh air in at midsection. Good no good?
