hello all, this is my first real post and i need some info from members that know all the tricks.
i was wondering if this grow kit is worth purchasing. this kit will fit nicely in my closet and all i want is to grow a couple plants for my own personal use. i have never tried to do anything like this before. and like many others i'm tired of spending my money on low quality weed. so i thought i would take a chance and give it a shot. also is there anything else important i would need to purchase that might not be included. this kit is from the U.S. can some one help me find one i can purchase in Canada? Hey, man.
![]() Well, the first thing I noticed that that package is missing is an extraction fan. You will definitely need one of those. The little clip-on fan they include will def. not be enough. Another thing to consider, If you buy just the things you absolutely need, you could pretty much DIY with alot of other things, and save a ton of money. Also, that tent is pretty short, so you might want to get the materials you'll need for growing scrog style, which imo, would be best suited for that tent. HTH Oops, I read the dimensions of the tent wrong. It's over 5 feet, my bad. |

That kit looks ok far as I can tell- I don't know any of the brands but it's the right kind of kit.
There will be hydro shops in Canada which sell similar kits- google is your friend .You're looking to grow in the closet in the picture? You might not need the tent then. You might want to think about how you're going to vent from inside to out- there has to be air exchange or the closet will get too hot and the plant won't get enough air. IDK if just cutting a hole in the door is ok, obviously it depends on your situation. Ideally you'd come up with a solution that was as inconspicuous as possible. I think it has one Quote:

![]() I think it's a great start from what it says. Be a bit before you'll want to upgrade anything. Looks to come with a switchable 250 and include both bulbs, nice catch.

I did a quick search and can't seem to find any other kits like it online that ship to Canada.
Best thing I can recommend is to write down what the kit contains and to do searches at grow sites that ship to Canada, looking for the best deal. Dan and Giles would probably have some better answers for you, man. Sorry I can't be of more help. |

ok this is just me, but i wouldnt buy a $200 grow tent and put it in a closet.
i would buy a $30 gallon of flat white paint, and paint the closet. for the rest of the stuff, it depends on how much stealth is an issue. if detection threat is really high, then a carbon can and extraction fan with a little ducting is necessary because there will be smell, and you will want to keep the door closed. if detection threat is moderate or low, maybe you can leave the door open sometimes, use a $20 fan to move the air. $200 -$350 for an hps light of 300-400w $20 bag of potting soil $30 generic all purpose fertilizer and some flowering & fruiting fertilizer some plastic cups/pots free or $10 maximum -really its just a plastic container with holes for drainage, doesnt have to be anything fancy put some white plastic on the floor for drips/spills and voila! your garden is ready |

The problem being the light and fan would cost as much as the whole kit.
You could keep the bits and put the tent away for when you need a second room. You have the closet. Divide it in half, making the bottom flower and the top veg. Chop and cut what you need to to make it what you need and fix it later. Take out the bifold and make two doors blah blah. OR, put the tent in your room and use the closet for veg. Would be some nice height. Don't let anyone tell you that the 250 won't be good for a 6' plant if need be. The cola alone will be worth it and the trimming will be easy.

I gotta ask...what's with the flat white paint? I guess I don't get it..

Best for reflectivity without creating hotspots short of using mylar which can be a pain in the arse.

In that closet the tent is superfluous imo.
Matt white paint tends to reflect PAR light surprisingly well.
