Question How often to calibrate?

How often do people typically calibrate thier PH meters?

Once very few months, lol I should almost definitely do it more often.

A lot of people do it every week.

If you start to get unexpected readings or the readings drift you should check it immediately.

Also if you're doing hydro pH is more critical- there is no pH buffering from the medium.

lol yeah! Just upped nutes to 50% veg lastnight & like normal the PH spiked. So I ajusted, waited about 30m & retested. Again, ajusted... Did this about 4 times before a nice 5.8.

After it all, I calibrated (last cali was about a week before), retested & the ph was 5.8 still. It just made me wonder how often I should be calibrating. Some reads I get say to cali before every testing, others weekly to monthly.

when we used them in class they were kept calibrated with a neutral solution.


Why not just keep a neutral solution like a checked bottle of water and calibrate it before each use?

whenever i used them in a lab i calibrated before every reading
