To flush or not to
So my best friends plants are about a week from finishing, but they now have this brown lines along the leaves. We believe its from over fertilizing, or possible root rot. He has been using the fox farm trio. I'm afraid to flush and worsen the root rot. I have never grown and this is his first time.
I will post pictures in an hour.

i think if they are a week from finishing a flush is needed to make the smoke friendly.

i have never really dealt with root rot before growing anything, but i would say let the soil dry up a bit before flushing and wait a few extra days (maybe 2 or 3) so you still get a good flush. if root rot is going to kill the plants then i would flush them as much as you can and harvest tomorrow or the day after.
how bad is it?

its not horrible, but we haven't had any problems thus far. and we are both new to growing. We let them get a little out of hand they are huge, so they are not flowering 100% correctly but it will still yield good, free, herb!

the flowers dont look quite ready, but the plant looks pretty toasted so it might be done for.

It looks opposite of overwatered tbh. Overfert too maybe. Leaves aren't drooping like I'd expect a drowning plant to do.

Yeah looks overfed to me.
How much have they been fed? Can you see any build up of salts round the rim of the pots and at the holes in the bottom? Do you know how hot it gets under the lights? I think they look heat stressed too. This often goes hand in hand with overfeeding- because plants have to transpire to keep cool this expends water and makes the nutrients in the soil more concentrated. I'd cut the nutes out for a while, just use plain water, water generously so some water comes out of the bottom of the pots. Remove the crispy bits, they are just in the way now. If you are using tap water, let it stand in an open container for 24 hrs before use so the chlorine can evaporate. There may be some other things going on- do you know how acid/alkaline the water is?

I think they were a little over fertilized, but also they got huge and did not have enough light for there size when flowering. I think they are pretty much done, the buds just didn't develop all the way. Oh well it was a first try we have 5 more plants in all stages of growth!
heres to learning

If you've grown your plants out that much and put that much time into them, I'd def give them more time. I'd start by doing a major flush and letting the soil dry out and do it again. Maybe give them a very very light dose of flowering nutes after flushing at least a couple times or a week or two. Nothing left to lose at this point.
