BC Blueberry - limited height

Hi all!
I have some BC Blueberry that's almost ready for veg: 3 nodes right now.

The issue I have is that i'm using a container that is 5' high.
I'm told that it can grow from 3' to 4' in height.
since I am a bit height constraint, because:

#1 I have 2x T5 lights, and assume 4" from top is "safe" (I will put my hand under to guage). I plan on getting a 3rd in a few weeks, and prob. raise the distance. so, from top of box to tip of plant would be about 1' to 1'4"

#2 the pot height is about 8", so we are now talking 2 feet are utilized.

that gives me about 3 feet to use to veg and flower.

I've read somewhere on here that people have started flowering?? right at 20 days with this strain? If so, that's 4 days from now. Right now, I my little girls are all over the place in size: 1 just seeded, 1 is an inch, 1 is on 2nd node, the rest are on the 3rd node.

confirming node? first leaves, then 2nd branch of leaves, then 3rd branch of leaves. they all are considered nodes, right?

I have as of yet to put them in a pot!

Could anyone tell me how man feet on average is the flowering stage for this strain? That might be the best indicator.

Also, because space is limited, should I top at 4th, 5th or 6th node?

any help would be greatly appreciated.
I can post of a picture of the babies if anyone wants to see.

OK, will take a picture this evening and post it.

with regards to topping, I believe I read somewhere that BC blueberry is great for 2 or 4 kolas? so I'm thinking if I do a topping, then that will increase the veg state, and spread things out instead of up. correct?

Depends on the genetics, some strains respond better to topping than others. The only way to know for sure is to run the same plant twice, once with topping and once without.

Training is a fairly safe bet with any strain, you can guarantee to keep the height down.

But don't take my word for it, go ahead and experiment.

here's my babies!

So, one died, and the biggest one on the left, actually "snapped", and I had to put tape on it and lean it against a rock. its now healthy again! Yea!

so that's not bad, 11 out of 12 seeds are ok.

yes.. kinda. so I had 1 light since last friday, and that light was very far away. I put the light closer (the height it is now), last tuesday. so 4 days with 1 light and 3" away. THEN I bought a second one on friday and put it in. Not much stretching after that! and the leaves came out even more. so, as far as I can tell about half of them have their 4th node starting to poke out. and by this friday it will be 20 days since seeding. someone else on this forum said they started to flower at 20 days, but i don't think i'm going to do that.

I am going to do topping on them: trying the new method, but i don't know if I should wait for the 5th or 6th node? I'm told topping will help spread the buds out more, instead of up.

I'm also hoping if anyone has grown this strain, and tell me how much does it grow in the flowering stage....

I was wondering if I could do that! good call! Thank you! That way, they all would be "even" in height when it comes to veg! thanks for that tip!

now to find out how how much does this strain grow in the flowering stage....

get them re-planed and re-post a pic...we'll look into the flowering for ya.

and what was the soil mixture?

we may as well pick on everything while we're at it!

HA! its all good. its an actual grow tent with zippers, etc. making it all enclosed, with pre done vents for the bottom and the top.

very simular to this one:

the size of the tent is 5' high, 2' wide and 4' long.

for the feeding, I'm using this stuff:

I have bought the Holland grow, holland micro, and holland bloom.

nope didn't pack it hard. i packed it.. lightly. just pressed down around the spongy stuff peat pot? that the plan is in. and then did a good water. the soil is one that has the "white stuff" in it to make sure there's lots of air, etc.

I have potted most of them, and will do a picture this weekend.

I like the way everything looks meticulously clean and lab like in the pic. Look forward to seeing how they get on.
