Autoflowering - nutrients

I'm curious about what nutes to use with autoflowers, specifically using bone and blood meal (to keep it 100% organic) in peat mos. Would the release times and the short grow period work alright together, or would a liquid nutrient solution work better. Any suggestions, advice?

Either way is fine.

Personally I favour using a lighter soil and supplementing with liquid nutes, that way the EC levels are lower initially.

But some people achieve great results the other way, especially outdoors.

I don't think autoflowerers need a special regime, except of course everything happens quicker.

The mix I ended up using was a combination of peat moss, perlite, bone meal, blood meal, worm castings, epsom salt, along with a microbial soil fixing fert. The strain grown is Double Diesel Ryder from Sagarmatha. From the looks of the girls they liked it. Even using cheap CFL's (about 150 actual watts/700 watt equiv, 2700k & 6400k) they are about a 12-15 inches tall and about 12 inches wide.

Seems to be slow to flowering. Now are 6 wks from seed and are about 7-10 days into flower. Hopefully I'll see the boom of rapid bud development that these auto's are suppossed to have. Is this just smoke the seed companies are blowing up my bum or do they really take off at some point? Anyone else had this happen? I did not think that NYC Diesel in it would slow it down too much because of the added Lowryder #2 gene.

Yeah sometimes the autoflowerers aren't any quicker than a quick indica.

I see their main use being outdoor guerilla growing.

To me there a waist of money there yields are minamal you can't clone so after you buy an smoke that's the end of your strain. Never liked that idea if I spend money for quality genetics I want to keep them forever. Let's us know how it works out. Never herd of anyone growing auto flower out doors. As they are designed more for the indoor gardener. Post some pics if you can.

They can be quite handy outdoors in places with short seasons, or to finish a bit early to avoid rippers.

I always wondered what would happen if you grafted a pure sativa onto ruderalis roots.

Here's some pics of Double Diesel Ryders from Sagarmatha Seeds. About 2 weeks from preflowers first ermerging. Not big buds due to only being under CFL's. 6 weeks old from seed. About 12" tall, lots of bud spots. Some trichomes appearing on branches, leaves, but not so much on buds. First preflowers located at the node and main stem points have began to wither on one of them. There are about 10 nodes per plant. Alternating nodes came after the 7th node, or about 4 weeks.

Hoping the HPS will help the small buds to fill out more. Not sure if it will since they have been straved for light since flowering 2 weeks ago... Had some heat stress earlier in veg due the CFL's being too close. Those 200 watte equivalent's can get quite hot.
