Auto flower strains

I'd like to gather your opinions on easy strains to grow. I'm a total rookie in this area so any help would be appreciated. Do you think Auto flowering would be a good starting point for somebody who hasn't grown so much as a tomato? I'll be growing indoors and space is slightly limited as my closet is my only option.

Thanks in advance

You should grow bag seed first that way you don't kill an expensive strain. That's what is do and they say the first time is the learning curve. Good luck Dr!

I started with bag seeds and was glad I did. Even after the wife destroyed my real first crop. If you live in a medical state I would get clones first. You deffinatly don't want to do hydro your first round and let's be honest the learning curve never ends when growing herb. Good luck and hope it works out for ya.

I am reliably told that if you have good auto genetics they can be very handy.
But I have never grown them myself. They are demanding to make seeds with as you can't hold parent plants in veg.

Bag seed... definitely bag seed. I started with random bag seeds, and I ended up with some dank ass genetics. As the years went by I learned more and more about the herb. I wish I knew what I know now, I would have crossed a lot of the random strains I grew. I once grew a strain that was for sure some lemon skunk... I wish I still had access to those genes.

My first grow was great! My second was horrible, and the third was good. Everything after the third has gotten better, and better.... Anyways, good luck on your grow.

The 60 day autos ive been growing have all been basically very low maintenance, I just germ then plant direct to my pre fert. garden bed.. Yields have been decent concidering low height, and buds all look High Times centerfold quality... Cheese varieties seem to put out higher yields, but some of the berry mixes Ive grown had superior flavors... haven't tried indoors yet, let us know how you make out Dr, Pepp...

Ironically enough I started off with tomatoes, my Grams always said if you can grow tomatoes you can grow anything.....good way to test your set up on something cheap before you get too invested too, also growing other herbs especially mint really helps with the odours apparently

Growing marijuana vs tomatoes< not even close to the same thing.

Been reading up on this autofflower stuff. The THC level is lower because sativa or indica is crossed with ruderalis which has no THC. The plants are small with yields as youd expect from a small plant.

Also, moketweed, i know talking about growing is like fish stories. I doubt you really got 7 or 78 ozs from an autoplant grown in a cab, thats just an exageration.

The cost is very high, 3 seeds for $20 plus having therm shipped to you.

I guess if you have to use auto flower, like no other choice. For me, I have other choices and wouldnt use this autoflower.

TP check out AutoFlower.net, there's guys pulling that kind of weight from autos and some with THC levels in the high teens even 20%+

I wouldn't hate especially having no experience with them only going by what you've read on the web.

apparently there is no cycle, can stay on 24 hours but can go down to 18 to control heat, they flower with age and not light/dark period

Theyre expensive seeds, low yield, less THC. Not worth it to me but can see where it may be the way to go for some.

I have a veg area with mother plants and use cuttings.

Here is just one of many examples, 11+ ounces

https://www.autoflower.net/forums/f2...ent-32599.html

That $10 seed seems quite economical now doesn't it?

Auto's and LED's are the future, stay stubborn and be left behind.

I know it's hard to teach an old dog new tricks and I'm certainly not trying to argue. Obviously you're not going to get POUNDS from an auto like you can a good strain of photo but there is a time and place for them. Depending on your region you can get multiple harvests per year while you run a photo grow. They are good for filling up space in a grow room too. To me they are more exciting to grow because they start flowering in 3-4 weeks, not months! And the low potency you mentioned is not true as long as you research and get seeds from a good breeder. Autos, over the last few years have been crossbred with POTENT sativas and indicas then back crossed many times removing all ruderalis traits except the auto flowering cycle. Just research "smoke reports" and you will see. There's breeders from Europe getting 20%+ THC and high CBD's.

Delicious Seeds, Sweet Seeds, Dutch Passion, Barneys Farm and Humboldt are a few of the better ones.

On a side note, if you ever order from Attitude use the "420" discount code, it's always available and depending on how much you order it pretty much eliminates the shipping charge or at least lowers it to a reasonable rate...I think I paid around $5 shipping using the code this year.

I'm still waiting for a documented grow from start to finish before I buy into the LED's. And Auto's are an option, I'm sure us stubborn old fuckers will be able to carry on without converting.

Autos and LEDS are the future, bullshit. Total bullshit.

Too many growers with moms, they wouldn't pay for those expensive seeds, ok I won't. But I haven grown from seed in years.

And LEDS? Just get a real light. CFLs are ok, but a kind of a waste, get at least a 150 hps. Will cost less in the long run than re-placing all those cfls when they get weak.
