(Disclaimer: I'm not suggesting that any Yahookans who have disagreed with me in the past are among this paid troll crowd. I think the paid folks tend to gravitate towards top 10 sites like the blogs/forums on amazon, facebook, etc.)

As an online political activist from everything ranging from cannabis legalization to 9/11, to the stolen 2004 election, to Iraq war lies, to repealing the income tax and ending the Fed, I have locked horns probably thousands of times now with those who disagree with my views; indeed, some of these people seem to have a practically limitless amount of time to try to pick apart every aspect of every one of my posts with the highest imaginable level of vitriol. It has been almost impossible not to wonder if some of these people are actually getting paid by "the bad guys" to storm the blogs and forums and try to howl down honest discussion by way of straw man arguments and ad hominem attacks.

Thanks to my activist friend Sheila Casey's digging, we now have a clue as to who such paid shills work for. I thought I'd initiate this thread as a heads-up to those whose initial reaction is "bwahahaha!!!" to the mere idea of "paid shills" defending various status quos on internet blogs/forums.Check out this ad:

I don`t doubt it does exist in some form- I know people get paid to blog in support of certain products and brands.

I want to get paid to argue about stuff online.

no offence, but if your thought process waivers just because some ass on a web board/blog/whatever go's "bwahahaha" to your political ideas, then i think your resolve wasnt that steady in the first place.

My conscience wouldn't allow me to promote ideas/materials/people I strongly disagree with, and especially if I felt certain that I was being paid to deliberately lie and deceive.

It would be nice to get paid for all my activism though.

I totally agree;

my "bwahahaha" allusion was not to the trolls themselves, but to people who think the very idea of paid blog trolls is ludicrous. For example, in the past on amazon i've suspected certain anti-9/11-truth posters to be paid shills because of their venom and seemingly unlimited amounts of "free time." Then an observer might chime in on the shill's defense and say "see kameelyun? You believe those who disagree with your views on this forum are paid agents and part of the conspiracy. No wonder no one takes you seroiusly." Well, the ad displayed in this thread's OP proves that people do indeed get paid money to further other peoples' agendas.

Not that hard to find the trolls. They never stick to the topic or answer direct questions or even add opposing comments. Just trash and burn and ugly the thread in hopes no one reads farther.
