Tea Party

Hello everyone! It has been a long long time since i have posted, been a busy year. I'm married and have a kid along the way (girl)!

Anyways, this tea party stuff reminded me of my favorite place to discuss politics.

I have been battling only on Twitter so far (#teaparty - Twitter Search
David Pinnow (Wesconsin) on Twitter) and get quite frustrated by peoples extreme bias to so many things. Whats all of your point of views?

Right now, they just seem like a bunch of pies.

my view is these protests were schizophrenic...ther e were people there protesting an actual concern over taxes...a concern they've been speaking out about for years regardless of the party in power...
and then there were people there who are insane...people who called protests against Bush anti-american and people who disagreed with his administration traitors...people who didn't even think twice about his IMMENSE spending deficits, who supported his giant increase in the size of government, etc etc etc...
But now that Obama is in power, they have the exact OPPOSITE view...disagreement is patriotic, spending is socialist (or fascist depending on what retarded sign you wanted to look at), government should be smaller, etc etc etc etc.

I am in agreement to a degree with group #1, but group #2 makes me /facepalm. The fact that they don't even recognize how they are contradicting themselves is beyond me.

Exactly. I enjoy the fact that some citizens are getting together for a good reason, but that group is too small, and is being over-run by the giant biased media (Fox News being the biggest) and GOP's with ground to gain because they lost. THese people need to get over the fact that they lost - even after all the bullshit they pulled during the election.

sorry man this topic isn't interesting to me. from what i understand the tea parties started out as a grassroots drive by butthurt mccain supporters which then spiraled into a media frenzy due to heavy promotion from fox news once they figured out they could use it to their advantage. from there it was spun into everything from protesting unfair taxes, wasteful spending, disenfranchisement, and on and on. whatever genuine protesting spirit there was was unequivocally drowned out by fox news' media blitz with the aim of taking a crack at washington. . . which is all well and good because washington deserves a few good knocks but the biased partisanship they drenched it in was sickening. they even falsely reported turnouts.

all in all no one's true cries of protest could be heard amid all the butthurt whining going on.

just opinions and facts/links backing them up. Too many people are becoming sheeple and following this movement blindly, and I'm trying (although I know how small of an impact just me has) to point out the flaws to one person at a time.
