Completely agree with you on that, Sage. This quote just seemed to come to me after rereading this thread.

"When asking for help, appeal to people's self-interest, never to their mercy or gratitude."

"If you need to turn to an ally (in this case fellow citizens) for help, do not bother to remind him of your past assistance and good deeds. He will find a way to ignore you. Instead, uncover something in your request, or in your alliance with him, that will benefit him, and emphasize it out of all proportion. He will respond enthusiastically when he sees something to be gained for himself.

- Robert Greene

defining it in a religious context.

Basically is why America is the way it is.

How about a government intelligent logical thinking people can work with.

America is a scam. Everyone is trying to sell you into their particular scam philosophy. The best scammers win.

I just refuse to comply with that.

I never voted on the poll.

I don't feel humans are born with any "rights".
Rights, as such, are only something offered in a controlled society. And there are sadly few if any places left in this world that some political entity isn't current controlling or trying to control. Civil rights...human rights are an illusion, offered up to you by those who wish to control you.

You have a right to breath but you are not born with the right to clean air...just whatever air is available. Pretty much eliminates all the smoking bans and clean air bullshit.

see how it works.

not necessarily. but what was equal was dale carnegie's influence before and after becoming successful. i must stress though that i don't mean influence in the usual sense, as in a role of leadership. i mean that his influence upon the world and his life in it has always been absolute, he merely allowed a more favorable expression of that influence to manifest in an outward way. it is much the same for all of us. . . there is no "nobody," only somebody influencing their circumstance in a way that creates a sense of being "nobody."

that's one way of viewing it, but i don't like it because it makes success/influence seem like something we need to attain to, something that lies outside ourselves. but all of us are already successful, influential beings, we're just succeeding in influencing things differently from how we might like. that's the variable imo, and exercising our control over it can lead to a wide array of circumstances both personally and collectively.

For in the end, that which you have accumulated (if not passed on to your survivors) returns to the state.

And there is nothing you can do about it but revolt against the existing madness...in sufficient mass to overthrow it, and replace it with yet another form of madness perhaps.

good luck with that.

An interesting test would be a nationwide refusal to file income tax returns...federal, state, and local, not refusing to pay these rediculous taxes, just refuse to file as a statement of solidarity and discontent. The Fed would go apeshit.

And there we have our new party...The Solidarity Party , the peoples party.

rather than start a new thread, I'll pitch a bitch here.

I'm currently on 40% unemployment. Bi weekly deposit into an epicard account is $628. Making the total balance $638. I check with online deposit on the 26th and it says the deposits been made. I go to the atm , but it says insufficient funds. No biggie right ? Deposit just didn't hit the bank yet. Next day I do a phone in to check the balance ...$638.00, go to the atm and withdraw $200.00, and have receipt printed out.
Says balance is $368.00
So this motherfucking pennsylvania hired unemployment bank- PNC - Has hit me with a $70 fucking overdraft fee on money it didn't give me.

That's America.

...maybe get a job , then u wont have problems , and wont need to be on yahooka at 1 in the afternoon
