Instead, they build a prison trying to keep the town alive in hard times.

They could be enforcing the Constitution...

"They could be growing hemp"

A handful of corporations, including the private prison industry make huge profits on the suffering of American citizens. Paraphernalia to house and feed 2.2 million people incarcerated in US gulags. 60% non violent drug offenses. When will "We the People" decide this is our country and the politicians work for us? As it stands elected lobbyists lie and stall to keep the bogus cannabis laws enforced. Not even recognizing Hemp was included by Nixon, rejecting his own tax paid commission report.

Hemp was not included in the 1937 Tax Act and was grown for the Hemp for Victory war effort. It required a tax stamp and that included politics and no doubt a deterrent to actually growing it. But not a schedule#1 narcotic as it is now. 98% of the "marijuana" eradications nationwide is comprised of wild hemp. That is the wrong reason to keep a versatile viable plant from the people.

Meanwhile we fight wars for crude oil, knowing vegetable oil can make the same products. We pollute the air and water with dioxins and pcbs when Hemp can remove the chemical hazards from the soil. Cotton requires 90 million pounds of abortion causing poisons while Hemp is organic and produces softer stronger clothing. Hemp seed and oil Omega 3, 6 and 9 essential fatty acids could supplement the kids meals without the obesity. Hemp food, fuel and fiber has been a staple since cultivation began,

If poor Mexicans, Indians and family farmers could grow this cash crop it might deter illegal immigrating to 2 bit jobs, lessen the tax welfare and help US farmers sustain their farms from bankruptcy and selling out to developers. This is the non-psychoactive Hemp I'm talking about. The Cannabis Ganja medicine and booze alternative is another story of corruption and fraud.

872,721 marijuana arrests in 2007 Inhaling or Not

Yes the prison industry provides jobs and a tax base for local towns. But what is the moral of this story? Are we going to make people sick just to provide jobs in the health treatment fields? Building prisons to house non violent non crime, citizens using a benign substance is un-American. Especially when "They could be growing hemp"

High on Hemp
