Nobody hates Monsanto more than me.

When I was about 10-12 I was staying at my grand-parents farm. A neighbor called, late at night for a rural farm, and told my grand-mother the fish were jumping out of the creek.

The next day we went to the bank and it was lined 10-15 feet with dead fish. They had jumped 10-15 out of the creek when Monsanto dumped PCBs.

Corporate Giant Monsanto Hid Decades Of Pollution

My ggrandfather owned over 700 acres where Choccolocco Creek empties into the Coosa river, where the fish kill was.

Imagine standing on the creek with the entire community, in horrid silence, looking at thousands and thousands of dead fish for as for as you can see, realizing you've been poisoned and there's nothing you can do about it; the land, the water, the crops, everything poisoned, and there's nothing you can do about it.

In the fall of 1966, Monsanto hired a Mississippi State University biologist named Denzel Ferguson to conduct some studies around its Anniston plant. Ferguson, who died in 1998, arrived with tanks full of bluegill fish, which he caged in cloth containers and submerged at various points along nearby creeks. This is what he reported to Monsanto about the results in Snow Creek: "All 25 fish lost equilibrium and turned on their sides in 10 seconds and all were dead in 3 1/2 minutes."

"It was like dunking the fish in battery acid," recalled George Murphy, who was one of Ferguson's graduate students at the time and is now chairman of Middle Tennessee State University's biology department.

"I've never seen anything like it in my life," said Mack Finley, another former Ferguson grad student, now an aquatic biologist at Austin Peay State University. "Their skin would literally slough off, like a blood blister on the bottom of your foot."

Ewwwwww.

I'm gonna call BS on this because the plant would need resin glands. I don't know how resin glands would look on the aforementioned cucumber or tomatoe plants but I don't see it being as simple as their trying to make it sound. But scientists have done some pretty weird shit...

damn PalmSpringsBum that is unfortunate, I'd be upset too.
