Not really, it's mostly due to when she got elected Alaska was pretty booming due to the $160 a barrel gas prices. When prices fell under $70 a barrel the State Budget was no longer balanced.
Basically, she's saying she can't handle difficult choices when they aren't handed to her.

So you're saying in a face off between Palin and Obama, then Palin wins hands down? No contest?

Shes fucking done. She's a laughing stock amongst nearly all politicians and media outlets (except for one, of course). Why do people even give it this much attention? Let her slip into the shadows and out of the limelight once and for all.
My gf thinks shes going to host a talk show or something, she's a much better fit for Hollywood than politics.

i dunno about hands down, but I could very well see palin being voted into the white house in '12. I mean... why not? Look at the precedent that's been set for presidents.

I don't think we've seen the last of her either, but I'm beginning to think this is a temporary pullback from politics instead of a prep for running in 2012. Many articles are mentioning that she knows she's been badly scorched by the national spotlight and is especially angry at the negative press on her kids. I think she's gone to lick her wounds for the time being; maybe a future run for the Senate isn't out of the question.

Hillary 2016. That's our first female president.
Followed by Gorlag 2024, our first alien president. White guys won't be doing that job again until Kirk joins Star Fleet. ![]() The Rev |

Spock for PrezQuote:
But if Palin is showing hypersensitivity against the press, then the sword swings both ways. William Kristol just wrote an good piece questioning why people (both liberals and establishment GOP) get so bent out of shape over Sarah Palin. The whole thing is too long quote, but here's a link and a few of his observations: Quote:

That shit the Mccain camp was saying during the campain and just recently was very damaging, and that was from people trying to make her vice president.

It's not the end of her career but a new beginning.
She's writing a book. She'll be giving speeches. And she'll be running for president in 2012. She's only just begin. (cue The Carpenters) |
