INTERVIEWER (in Arabic, English subtitles): We haven’t had any information about your whereabouts for some time. Where were you?

AYMAN ZAWAHIRI: {?} I was just home and clubs.

INTERVIEWER: Not in Afghanistan? Somewhere else?

ZAWAHIRI: Everywhere, everywhere.

INTERVIEWER : Everywhere?

ZAWAHIRI: I am a Muslim. Being a Muslim, you are wanted everywhere. Because if you—just if you say no to the superpowers, this immediately in itself is a crime you are wanted for.

INTERVIEWER: {?} Yes, but isn’t what you do not to do with arms?

ZAWAHIRI: {?} It�s aggressive but ask Allah, and he is greater than superpower.

WHEW GLAD THAT'S OVER! hey look, i have food, shelter, safety, friends, family, and all kinds of shit. i have the freedom to enjoy it; even on my own terms if i'm careful enough. it's a pretty sweet deal really, and it can only get better! people around the world are standing up against the oppression that denies them a similar quality of life. various nations are setting ambitious, competitive goals for renewable energy use. we're slowly waking up to the ills of our society, and finally moving to correct them. too little too late? i say better late than never! we push boundaries daily, and our capacity for developing new technology to "hack" reality and gain us new abilities (i.e. energy resources, communication, industry, architecture, basic physics/chemistry experimentation to develop new materials, etc) has proven remarkably resilient. nothing ever stood in the way of a little ingenuity and effort, and it really seems like we're starting to show the will to do something on a massive scale. sweet!

oh, or the world's going to end and i'll become some sort of slave in a neosocialist/fascist-terror state (even though "they've" been trying for it for CENTURIES, and if anything it seems to only be getting HARDER on them). yeah. . . maybe i should devote my mental faculties to that. . .

And as for "new technologies, NONE have proven to be either effective nor a replacement.
Even if we did come up with some miraculous new technology to replace oil, it would take, on average, 30 years to implement and suffice.

The fact that everything going on, under the guise of "terror", is nothing more than a power grab to gain control over what's left of the oil reserves should, at the very least, be more than obvious to you now.
IF, you weren't aware of that already.

i know man i've seen the film. the evil government is out to frighten us into submission with smoke and mirrors. it's a nightmare for sure, but much less powerful than the nightmare of having a government that is actually able to do it!

i told you to wake up because you told others to wake up when all you're doing is providing a nightmare of your own, and one which i do not feel has a shred of credibility. sure powerful people could WANT to do these things, but if you ask me the opportunity has passed and they're at a loss of what to do. the only support they have is crazed fear-mongering folk such as yourself who are hellbent on perceiving the world as a terrible place in control of terrible people, and that's worth a shitload more concern than neocons, socialists, fascists, bilderburgers, the illuminati or whatever the fuck. believe it or not you're playing into their game!

Tell me. Just exactly what is it you think is going on with the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan?
You don't seriously think we're there for the betterment of those people. Or do you?


How is this worse?
It's not about what's worse, it's about showing people who give a fuck what's going on.
Instead of living in perpetual fear that an organized terrorist unit is out to get us, people can begin to see what's really happening.

We are becoming smarter about using energy? Really? Is that why there are rolling black outs in some areas?
Why China is infusing billions into Iran to secure more oil?
Why we're war mongering to secure what oil reserves we can?
Why the one car that was legitimately battery powered (the EV1) and not a hybrid was pulled and crushed?
Why the NiMH battery has been shelved (by Big Oil that bought the rights to it) in favor of the shorter lived, shorter duration Lithium Ion battery?

Can you be any more clueless to what's going on?

And, on the short sighted part, have you never heard about peak oil?
You know, the part about not being able to pump as much oil as we used to be able to pump because supplies are dropping?
Yeah...nothing like being short sighted, eh?


Where is that you live? Under a rock?
Last I heard, we've established control in both Iraq and Afghanistan, have all the 'Stans in our pockets including Pakistan.
Hell, through treaty, they can't even install a director of the IB (Pakistani version of our CIA) unless we approve the guy.

Of course none of this is about grabbing power.
It's really about human quality of life and supporting, through aid, the betterment of those that are less fortunate. Right?
