one thing thats pretty funny is how saddam changed his profile to remove any comments on his wall and to not allow private messages right before he started talking all sorts of shit and calling me an asshole in huge letter repeteadly ad nasuem-
since i cant find any other way to inform him of this fact would u let him know that i have his ass on ignore. would u also let him know that russia "opening the door" in the face of the us abandoning its biggest irritant to Russia is not exactly what i would call tit for tat. |

Even the mainstream press is saying they are dropping our dollar as the world reserve currency (see Drudge). You really think we're sliding into a golden age? Explain what you think the world will be like in 10 years, after all us fearful and negative guys have stepped out of the way. |

Americans cannot get any truth out of their government about anything, the economy included. Americans are being driven into the ground economically, with one million school children now homeless, while Federal Reserve chairman Ben Bernanke announces that the recession is over.
The worst part of the decline is yet to come. Bank failures and home foreclosures are yet to peak. The commercial real estate bust is yet to hit. The dollar crisis is building. When it hits, interest rates will rise dramatically as the US struggles to finance its massive budget and trade deficits while the rest of the world tries to escape a depreciating dollar. Since the spring of this year, the value of the US dollar has collapsed against every currency except those pegged to it. The Swiss franc has risen 14% against the dollar. Every hard currency from the Canadian dollar to the Euro and UK pound has risen at least 13 % against the US dollar since April 2009. The Japanese yen is not far behind, and the Brazilian real has risen 25% against the almighty US dollar. Even the Russian ruble has risen 13% against the US dollar. What sort of recovery is it when the safest investment is to bet against the US dollar? The American household of my day, in which the husband worked and the wife provided household services and raised the children, scarcely exists today. Most, if not all, members of a household have to work in order to pay the bills. However, the jobs are disappearing, even the part-time ones. If measured according to the methodology used when I was Assistant Secretary of the Treasury, the unemployment rate today in the US is above 20%. Moreover, there is no obvious way of reducing it. There are no factories, with work forces temporarily laid off by high interest rates, waiting for a lower interest rate policy to call their workforces back into production. The work has been moved abroad. CEOs use every means to substitute cheaper foreign employees for Americans [How Well-Educated, Hard-Working Americans are Treated in America, By Rennie Sawade, WashTech News, September 14, 2009 ]. Despite 20% unemployment andcum laude engineering graduates who cannot find jobs or even job interviews, Congress continues to support 65,000 annual H-1B work visas for foreigners. In the midst of the highest unemployment since the Great Depression what kind of a fool do you need to be to think that there is a shortage of qualified US workers? Paul Craig Roberts was Assistant Secretary of the Treasury during President Reagan's first term. He was Associate Editor of the Wall Street Journal. He has held numerous academic appointments, including the William E. Simon Chair, Center for Strategic and International Studies, Georgetown University, and Senior Research Fellow, Hoover Institution, Stanford University. He was awarded the Legion of Honor by French President Francois Mitterrand. |

I think ahmadinejad is a nutjob but he doesn't even control the military or their imaginary nukes. Iran hasn't attacked anyone for 200 years. We'd have to wait for 200 years for either the US or israel to make that claim. Iran is no threat to the security of the US. Unfortunately our foreign policy is dictated by the israeli lobby and our military. |

so, who's going to be in charge? sustainability, the will to behave in accordance with reality rather than against it, proactive applications of skills and technology to afford all nations a chance to bring something to the world community. international commerce has been painting a picture of this since the age of discovery, cementing the livelihood of all nations together and producing a world in which no nation can truly fend for itself nor continue enhancing its way of life without the support of others: materials, machinery, expertise, labor, food, electronics, etc. we are finally recognizing this and understanding how efforts to circumvent the global partnership for personal gain are altogether counter-productive both in the short and long term. look at the war in iraq, afghanistan: these are abhorrent failures indicating the death of a paradigm. and what business does the us dollar have in being a reserve currency? our whole system has been defunct from the beginning. we fudged it and it's not our place to dictate where the tide will turn

"all nations a chance to bring something to the world community. international commerce "
The only point is there will be some power entity in charge of all this. We have seen the events so far and the disintergrating of the standard of living around the world. I'm not afraid of another country, especially Russia...they kept us afraid of that for 45 years. It's those that we don't see and their ambitions. Enough said. No one can change another's mind on anything...we should all know that by now. We all have GOOGLE in case we're curious about anything. That's a lot. As far as who will be in charge..it's more than "sustainability" as that's a concept. |

and that power entity will be driven by the concepts i described. going against those concepts in our world which shrinks by the day leads to unfavorable circumstances at best, and collective suicide at worst. we don't have the leisure to fuck around anymore is basically what i'm getting at. it's do or die and ANYONE, however much power they have, think they have or want, will choose behaviors which allow them to continue living with some semblance of the life quality they've grown accustomed to. and by that i mean the technology and services that make modern society what it is. so it's not exactly the concepts that are in charge, but the environmental/social pressures that drive us to adopt those concepts and develop them. . . or else!

"choose behaviors which allow them to continue living with some semblance of the life quality they've grown accustomed to"
The only problem is their lifestyle has been the control over entire nation's economies, and they like that. Like I said, no one can change anyone opinions on anything. Just look at all the posts on all the forums, and see if anyone has ever said, " thanks, dude, you've completely changed my mind on this issue." A year from now, we'll see how our Brave New World will be, and if anyone has changed their mind on the real issues...not those those which are picked for us to keep us arguing. |
