That's hilarious. Until this "secret facility" came to be known, the concept of the NPT, and nations rights under it, was completely disregarded by your ilk. Now, since Iran is in violation of the NPT, it is all of a sudden something to be adhered to. Yet when mother israel refused to join we were told the NPT is irrelevant. It's hard to keep up.

Can the same be said of Iran?
Unless you think Iran is one big suicide bomb waiting to go off, I'd say yes.

I could have sworn we weren't going to get through his full two terms without a nuke going off somewhere. I don't care what anyone says. The fact that this man is no longer leading one of the most powerful nations in the world speaks volumes to the fact that it's getting better all the time.

Iran is a radical, religious theocracy that is at war with the west and has many connections to terrorism.

You lot can laugh and ridicule but most of this board is Americans and most chances that if Iran gets the bomb, they will give it to terrorists to attack America.

Personally I am not against the downfall of the States, however I am against the 3rd World War and every developement in this story seems to bring that closer.

The right, yes.

My hope, no.

And I'm all for disarming every nation of them, if possible.

That's ridiculous. Are the terrorist then going to put the nuke in a big slingshot and send it to america. Iran doesn't even have missles that can reach this country, how in the fuck is a stateless terrorist group going to do it? And you live in a radical jewish state and I live in a radical christian state with governments who kill indiscriminately. Iran has a ways to go to strike terror in the hearts of as many people as the us and israel do.

duh: terrorists don't use long range ballistic missiles. they use small suitcase size devices.
Even a small one would remove most of New York or anyother western city from the map.
we are talking about millions of casualties, something only a few remaining Japanese can only begin to understand.

Nuclear terrorism is not something that any of us want to see.

It will surely lead to the 3rd world war.

Stopping any new nation gaining nuclear weapons is the right of the rest of the world without doubt.

Powerfull warheads are not usually heavier than 100 kilos.
So what's the problem here?

And when all else fails, try to incite fear through speculation of a future event ie.."We don't want it to come in the form of a Mushroom Cloud." Well done, j, you are a true testament to the fact that you don't have any factual or empirical basis to believe what you believe, you are just scared (and you spelled nuclear wrong...the irony is palpable).

I want to add that I understand the fear surrounding Iran, they are by no means a stable nation and it's hard to imagine this ending without some kind of military involvement, perhaps similiar to the scale of Lebanon's last conflict. I don't see any major "war" coming from it, though. I feel the fear surrounding their 'getting the bomb' is a bit overblown for various reasons, mostly special interests in the US military industrial complex, but it's also pretty clear to see they are not going to use the technology for just energy. I don't think this is any reason to halt the diplomatic efforts though. There is a reason they want this technology and I don't feel it's just to give it to terrorists or immediately destroy Israel. The answer is just not that black and white. They obviously feel they need more leverage in the region and with the US right next door now, I can understand their ornery nature.

So Iran develops nukes and passes them on to terrorists who then downsize the nukes to fit into a suitcase. jack bauer comes to the rescue by torturing the terrorist until he tells him where his samsonite is. Right, likely to happen.:ro lleyes::ro lleyes:

We should have ourselves a man's war. Nuke China and eliminate the deficit. It's a win/win.

It's a little bit more complicated than that. We only began getting military help from America under Nixon, all of the junk not worth shipping back to the staes left over from Veitnam was sent here.

We then got a shit load of cash for peace with Egypt but they also got nearly as much.

Today we get a measly $3 billion of American weaponry. (which as much to do with subsidizing the US arms business than to help Israel).

So your wrong on all counts, we manage to keep ourselves afloat and armed.

However America gives us a Veto on the security council in th UN and that alone is worth more than any aid or arms.
