More stupidity...
THE JOB - URINE TEST
(Whoever wrote this one deserves a HUGE pat on the back!) Like most folks in this country, I have a job. I work, they pay me. I pay my taxes and the government distributes my taxes as it sees fit. In order to get that paycheck in my case, I am required to pass a random urine test (with which I have no problem). What I do have a problem with is the distribution of my taxes to people who don't have to pass a urine test. So, here is my Question: Shouldn't one have to pass a urine test to get a welfare check because I have to pass one to earn it for them? Please understand, I have no problem with helping people get back on their feet. I do, on the other hand, have a problem with helping someone sitting on their ass - doing drugs, while I work. . . . Can you imagine how much money each state would save if people had to pass a urine test to get a public assistance check? I guess we could title that program, 'Urine or You're Out'. Pass this along if you agree or simply delete if you don't. Hope you all will pass it along, though. Something has to change in this country -- and soon!!!!!! Regards, Karen LeMaistre

If she has no problem with a urine test she's an apologist for a fascist system.

what is needed is an education campaign! people who think this way do, bacause theyre told that people who choose to smoke weed or take some weekend coke or extasy cant do their jobs properly. while abuse does take a productivity toll, by and large recreationals are used without hinderence to the working week.
a change towards equal footing with drinking or smoking cigs is probably the only way to change this trend. but youre fighting against governments who can fill the debate with one sided reporting.. so what do ya do? buy ural!

I spent two years driving cab in Denver. At the beginning of every month, the black section of town would fill up with calls. One month, I decided to find out why. I ran three in a row which turned out to be a black man who would get in my cab and we would drive to the nearest place where he could get a bucket of chicken for his family. I guess this is what they lived for.
Does the lady in ther letter also feel that they should not be able to purchase alcohol and tobacco with their welfare check?? Most of the people on welfare are now welfare generations and are milking the system. Drug testing them will only make things worse. I wonder if she was properly educated about drug testing if she would have a problem with it. She could eat a poppy seed muffin or take some ibuprofen before going into work that day and just happen to test positive for opiates or cannabinoids. That would put her under scrutiny by her employer and possibly cost her the job she most dearly enjoys. It is her type of attitude that has led this country's two fastest growing industries to become corrections and collections. Is it any wonder we are in the mess we are?? She quite obviously does not understand that the safest drug known to man is also the easiest detectable. Cannabis can stay in your system up to 30 days where cocaine, methamphetamine, and many others are gone within 3 days. Many people on welfare are already part of the justice system anyway which means they live under scrutiny from their probation officer. I am still trying to figure out where all these stupid ass laws came from and why they are still in existence. Kameelyun was correct in his response. She definitely supports a facist government just as the Germans supported Hitler. The stupidity lives on. If she wants to change things for the better in this country, I suggest she come over to our side.![]()

I agree, and economically, she basically wants to keep giving out welfare checks AND AT THE SAME TIME, pay for drug tests as well. Yeah that sounds pretty logic no? spending even more just to mess a little bit more with people on welfare? Where do these idiots come from?

Wow, just wow. I have never been on any kind of asistance and cant really speak of it from that perspecitve, but I do KNOW folks who for one reason or another ...needed help...especially when the co. they had worked for- for years- suddenly and unexpectedly left lots and lots of people without paychecks or medical benefits. ThatFast. Know what followed..? Foreclosures and heart attacks. Is A drug Test fair to these people?...
