Eh, I've seen it written that political progress has to start at the lowest level and work it's way up, e.g. legalising medicinal marijuana in several states eventually forcing federal government to draw back their control. That's one of the absolute best things that's happened in recent years, and it's not because of Obama, it's because of Americans who got their shit together. If it's impossible to elect an anti-war President, maybe it's possible to elect enough anti-war senators so that the President's war agenda becomes untenable.

Not that I'm in much of a position to criticise, we Brits can't even get medical marijuana. I'm just gonna vote Libertarian UK party next election, I don't even care if anybody else does. This country's a fucking cinder block tied to my ankle and I'm ready to wade into the ocean at his point.

Exactly! True change always starts locally, which includes voting for your state's representation. I pay close attention to these races, as it's truly a 'trickle up' line of power. Although, I have to disagree slightly...Obama's 'hands off' approach gave the states a feeling of power over MMJ that they haven't had in decades enough to do something as ballsy as they did in Portland in opening a Pot Cafe.

You bring a smile to my face in the morning.

And you think AIPAC and the war party aren't aware of senate races?

I don't think we disagree, I'm just saying that the official "hands off" stance is a result of progressive action in individual states.

I wonder how you managed to get up in the mornings without me around to brighten the mood...

You're saying that the war party wants to achieve change by working up through the grass roots? You're gonna have to spell that out for me, eric.

I'm saying the war party and Aipac back candidates that follow their agenda throughout all levels of government. I had responded specifically about the senate because that is what you suggested as a way of making the war untenable for the president.
