The President of Peace

Teddy Roosevelt, Woodrow Wilson, and now Obama.

I think there will be no more war now.

"Yes We Can" Cookies
low sugar, high fiber, dairy free cookie recipe

While there may be indications of political undertones this is more about yes we can have cookies after all with out running our blood sugar levels through the roof.

A couple of weeks ago we did an in-store demonstration of our product line at one of our store, Food Front Cooperative Grocery, in Portland, Oregon. First and foremost, I have to say I just love coops and what they stand for. Food Front in particular is one of my favorites. If you are ever in Portland, I suggest you drop in and check out what they have to offer. The local produce is especially good.

When we do an in-store demo we bring a few goodies that we have made with our products. This demo we brought Ginger Infused Lemonade, No Added Sugar Chai Tea (both dairy and vegan) and of course "Yes We Can" cookies.

"Yes We Can" cookies are not low carb... make a note of it. These are reduced sugar but, there are quite a few carb because of the grains. The high fiber does off-set the carbs a bit. Use moderation when eating these... if you can.

Have an excellent day.
YOUR RECIPE :

"Yes We Can" Low Added Sugar Oatmeal Raisin Nut Cookies
Serves: 24
Carbs Per Serving: 6.5 g
Prep Time:
Skill Level: Easy

These are an amazing vegan cookie. They are not low carb but they have low added sugars and the fiber brings the net carbs down to a point where a couple cookies shouldn't effect blood sugar levels. You can also go raw with these.

Ingredients:
3 cups whole oats
1 cup coconut oil (if you want you can substitute soft butter or margarine)
1 1/2 cups Fructevia or Steviva Brand Stevia Blend
2 tablespoons of molasses
1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 1/4 cups Spelt Flour (you can use any whole grain flour even soy if you want to cut the carbs)
1/4 sunflower seeds
1 teaspoon salt

Instructions:
1.) Pre-heat your oven to 350 F

2.) Blend all the dry ingredients in a bowl and then set aside.

3.) With a mixer cream the coconut oil with the Fructevia or Steviva Brand Stevia Blend and vanilla extract.

4.) Add the dry ingredients to the bowl and mix well. I usually just use my hands to mix it up.

5.) Drop rounded teaspoon sized dough balls onto a greased cookie sheet equally spaced.

5.) Flatten cookies with the bottom of the measuring cup to a desired thickness.

6.) Bake for 8-10 minutes.

7.) Let cool enjoy and share!

If you want to have these as a RAW food then rather than baking them put them in a food dehydrator.

A) I too hope we can move forward and end war but I don't think we can globally outlaw religion so I doubt that'll ever happen...

B) That cookie recipe looks like the paper you print it on would taste better, I've never in my life seen a healthy looking vegan.

The world refuses to fall out of love with Obama. Sooner or later they will, tho, and I think that might be bad.

The president of peace just sent 30,000 more troops to Afghanistan? Edit - I apologize this hasn't happened yet. Misleading news articles

Mydriasis (The Wize) and al-Mu-akhkhir (The Madhi) are the first to see the absurdity of "The President of Peace", and the so called "award" he was given.

I'm just watching the news and see we are deploying 40,000 more troops to Afghanistan.

May Allah watch over the troops, keep them safe, and bring them home again to their families and friends, sound in mind, body and soul. Amin!

Desmond Tutu gave Pres. Obama's winning of the Nobel peace prize his blessing.
I daresay the man knows something about peacemaking.

bishop tutu isnt exactly a saint.

but this whole obama the king of peace thing kinda makes me laugh.

just goes to show how the world has a love hate relationship with america- we are so loved and people have such a generally positive opinion of us, that we can fuck shit up pretty badly, and yet if we make some changes, and say the right things, a few years later everyone is back sucking our luscious donks again....

ill bet gwb is having a pretty hard time dealing with mr popularity as president winning nobel prizes and having the world be so happy for him and cheering and shit- even tho he basically is continuing all the same policies bush had, (which i view as correct policies) but perhaps spinning them a little better for a world audience.

Here is the mystery, Hijab. The nominations for the prize started on Feburary 1, I am told. He was in office 10 days. What accomplishments did he do in 10 days ?

While people don't want to admit it, it's being the first African American President of the U.S. Martin Luther won the award as well and it all revolved around civil rights of African American community. Obama's election was/is a milestone and a tremendous step forward that continues that legacy that King started. On top of that, it's the level of multilateral diplomacy that he's brought to the international table, especially when compared to his predecessor, which I do believe this is partially about, and especially in the face of two very unstable and unfriendly countries. All the while though, I agree with stoneric in the sense that he's not all about peace...he still is possibly escalating a war in Afghanistan. Perhaps this prize was to persuade him to do otherwise? Either way, whether I like Obama or not, I think this prize is deserved. The man has done something pretty impressive and radical, especially given the political and world climate in which it occurred. And I'm daaaaaaammmmmnnnnn excited to see how the next 3 years go.

OK, Hx2...can you change your forum name in case I forget ?

Here's a joke from (the liberal) Saturday Night Live TV show :
Jimmy Carter received the prize for bringing peace to Egypt and Israel . . . Obama won it for not being Bush

Thats more than a good enough reason.
Obama is cleaning up Boosh's mess,
not profiting on dead Americans like GOPerverts.
