I still dont think they would necessarily let us grow marijuana. But either way, you could just decriminalize the growing of pot...Wouldnt that make more sense? That way we get to smoke weed and grow it legally and we dont have to give the government money to go invade countries and bust other drug users.

I think this was a line in the sand for the LA DA making threats to close down all of the buyers clubs. Scam DEAgo hasn't said much since his first statement to leave state law to states. A rather unLiberal, Federalist notion, maybe even approved by true Conservatives. Or something they couldn't bark at without being hypocritical about guns. They were all banking on Feds to come to the rescue. As far as anything concerning the Ganjawar being Constitutional, nada. The CSA is a lie. Lies are not Constitutional. Neither was slavery but we held on to it. Overturning the CSA would be the only true Justice. This will keep conservative and elderly sick people without connections off the streets in most places, places with buyers clubs. Maybe the Growers can supply the Feds, instead of the Schwag Farm in Mississippi. Its still a fascist Ganjawar.

please go back to the press release and count the number of times they said they were reclassifing marijuana...or the number of times the word decriminalize appears. "...this memorandum does not alter in any way the Department’s authority to enforce federal law, including laws prohibiting the manufacture, production, distribution, possession, or use of marijuana on federal property. This guidance regarding resource allocation does not “legalize” marijuana or provide a legal defense to a violation of federal law, nor is it intended to create any privileges, benefits, or rights, substantive or procedural, enforceable by any individual, party or witness in any administrative, civil, or criminal matter. Nor does clear and unambiguous compliance with state law or the absence of one or all of the above factors create a legal defense to a violation of the Controlled Substances Act. Rather, this memorandum is intended solely as a guide to the exercise of investigative and prosecutorial discretion. Finally, nothing herein precludes investigation or prosecution where there is a reasonable basis to believe that compliance with state law is being invoked as a pretext for the production or distribution of marijuana for purposes not authorized by state law. Nor does this guidance preclude investigation or prosecution, even when there is clear and unambiguous compliance with existing state law, in particular circumstances where investigation or prosecution otherwise serves important federal interests..." still the thought is nice.

States can Abuse as well as the Feds... Even Worserer
DESCRIMinalization: Decrim Myths, Decrim Facts
By David Malmo-Levine, Cannabis Culture - September 30 2009 Is marijuana decriminalization a step in the right direction or a crafty trick to widen the net of the Drug Warriors? Several people, spearheaded by Hunter Thompson, attacked the current strategy of decriminalized pot as "another trick." – High Times, March 1977 Another trick Marijuana decriminalization is a wolf in sheep’s clothing – a prohibitionist Trojan Horse – a horrible drug policy wrapped in a nice-sounding name. full story continued... ![]() Nixon lied to schedule Ganja #1 - Lies are not Laws Richard Milhouse Nixon to Raymond P. Shafer" Pot Decriminalization Timeline 1920: The British government passes the Dangerous Drugs Act, which controls the sale of cannabis tinctures. “Indian Hemp” is added to the Act in 1925. to 2009 – August: Argentina legalizes personal possession of small amounts of marijuana. "Each individual adult is responsible for making decisions freely about their desired lifestyle without state interference," the Court determined. "Private conduct is allowed unless it constitutes a real danger or causes damage to property or the rights of others." This echoes the harm principle arguments made by Malmo-Levine and others that failed to persuade the Supreme Court of Canada in 2003. Celebrity Stoners: American High Society

That decrim myths and facts article just validates what I've been thinking ever since I heard about decriminalization of MJ and replacing jail with fines or treatment, its just bogus, people fell for it because well, a fine is better than jail, but its still bogus.

November 10th, 2009 By: Paul Armentano, NORML Deputy Director The Schedule I federal classification of cannabis — which states that, by law, the marijuana plant and its natural compounds have “no currently accepted medical use in treatment in the United States” — has long since passed the point of farcical. Nevertheless, defenders of the so-called “Schedule I lie” have possessed, for nearly 30 years, one prestigious ally that they could always rely on to endorse their absurd position: the American Medical Association. Not anymore! Con Flicts of Interest Bush Barthwell & Drugs Health regulators have sent an uncompromising message that smoked cannabis will not be approved for use by MS sufferers, leaving the way open for GW's under-the-tongue spray version of the drug. Bayer and GW Pharmaceuticals announce marketing agreement on pioneering new cannabis-based treatment. Dr. ElSohly's lab at the University of Mississippi has an exclusive contract with the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA), which supplies the pot to approved researchers who study its ill effects. US Patent 6630507 - Cannabinoids as antioxidants and neuroprotectants Abstract Cannabinoids have been found to have antioxidant properties, unrelated to NMDA receptor antagonism. This new found property makes cannabinoids useful in the treatment and prophylaxis of wide variety of oxidation associated diseases, such as ischemic, age-related, inflammatory and autoimmune diseases. The cannabinoids are found to have particular application as neuroprotectants, for example in limiting neurological damage following ischemic insults, such as stroke and trauma, or in the treatment of neurodegenerative diseases, such as Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease and HIV dementia. Nonpsychoactive cannabinoids, such as cannabidoil, are particularly advantageous to use because they avoid toxicity that is encountered with psychoactive cannabinoids at high doses useful in the method of the present invention. A particular disclosed class of cannabinoids useful as neuroprotective antioxidants is formula (I) wherein the R group is independently selected from the group consisting of H, CH3, and COCH3. Confirms Grounds To Remove Marijuana From Sched#1 A Press Release from the Law Offices of Michael Kennedy 7-13-00 Marijuana is safer and CHEAPER! Nov 20 2009 Tobacco-related health costs: $800; booze-related health costs: $165; pot-related health costs: $20 - any questions? ![]() After the IOM (Institute of Medicine) was petitioned to test Ganja for McCaffrey to reschedule, they came out with contrary evidence to what the drug thugs hoped. Not that Klintoon would play fair. But my belief is they had to do something and for 9 years they have stalled and kept Americans terrorized for nothing. As I understand it the IOM was to go to Shalala in HHS (Health and Human Services) to evaluate if it should be rigorously tested further by the FDA (Food and Drug Administration) She sat on it until Boosh got in and then Tommy Thompson sat on it and as far as I know its still at the HHS. The leaked FDA employee's opinion was just that. The press made the claim it was the FDA's official statement, falsely. But falsely is the only game they know. This latest AMA statement was probably more towards the finding of their own physician students wanting it researched. But again the games they play. It seems like they want it rescheduled for the Pharm corporations, not Ganja. Barthy and Bayer and the patents already granted should make them a bundle without jeopardizing their gravy train prohibition. SOS going strong since 1937. Personally, I dont care if its legalized or not, like ya that'd kick ass if I could walk down the street smoking my pipe (which I already do), but it being illegal doesnt stop me from smoking it, I dont need the governments permission to get high, fuck 'em. And knowing the government, they'll probably put a whole bunch of shit in it to make it just as bad as cigerettes. And wtf is the difference between legalization and decriminalization?
