Centuries? You obviously need some more history lessons. We only became a "Super Power" after World War II. It gas not been that long. Rome was around for a while and went down in a blaze of glory - quickly.

we still have a long way to go before we are anywhere near even being the number 2 nation guys,

we have a larger military budget than the next 10 nations combined, and we have 4x the next highest nations gdp unless u count the eu as a "nation".

i wouldnt worry today,

but i would worry today with a view towards tommorow, its time for our country , like a bloated comapny, to get lean, mean cost efficient, and better able to deliver the services it absolutely MUSt provide.... in other words, SHRINK IT!...

we have a long way to go before we're in over our heads, id put 2017 (when social security THE CURRENT ENTITLEMENT WE CANT PAY FOR EVEN becomes insolvent) as one deadline , and personally i think we will have turned a lot of our shit around by then, the question is if we really will (ie if pelosi leaves office ASAP and takes Reid with her) or not (ie. demo-mania for 8 or more years).....

ps i know its not really all about politics, but impo i believe the logic the liberals use is wrong, not saying i think all the logic republicans use is right, but whos got the reigns gets the blame.

stfu already, we're turning shit around RIGHT NOW. wtf are you talking about turning shit around in 2017. . . you really believe that the "logic" of whoever the fuck you support would help us then when the same "logic" has been in place the past 8 years and yet we're still where we are today? their and your "logic" is to keep things as close to as they are and have been as humanly possible. why should that be the gold standard when it's put the majority of our country in the shitter? you're just a scared, bigoted and closed minded little bitch who doesn't know what to cling to for comfort as he sees his parents' little fantasy world crumble. well you've sure found something and i'll give you a hint: it's not logic

Big fucking deal if bill gates created 1 trillion dollars of wealth for the world. Do you think his incentive was to make 50 billion? That's the problem . It's idiots like you who think bill gates would have no incentive if he would have only made 999 million yet still created 1 trillion of wealth. No one says bill gates shouldn't be filthy rich. Closing the gap between the haves and have nots doesn't eliminate the filthy fucking rich.

Now all you psycho Boosh fox newties get off the internet!

WE OWE IT ALL TO THE HIPPIES
Forget antiwar protests, Woodstock, even long hair.
The real legacy of the sixties generation is the computer revolution

Newcomers to the Internet are often startled to discover themselves not so much in some soulless colony of technocrats as in a kind of cultural Brigadoon - a flowering remnant of the '60s, when hippie communalism and libertarian politics formed the roots of the modern cyberrevolution. At the time, it all seemed dangerously anarchic (and still does to many), but the counterculture's scorn for centralized authority provided the philosophical foundations of not only the leaderless Internet but also the entire personal-computer revolution.

should we thank the hippies for the internet?

There has never been a case of a country where those in power (in our case, the rich) have been forced to serve the "greater good". It's a nice idea, if you want to rally people behind a change of leadership, but it will never happen. Whenever a new faction takes power, no matter what their professed interest in social justice, they instantly become "those in power". That makes THEM the ones with something to lose by changing the status quo.

No matter how much someone cries and moans that they will bring about change and fairness in the political system, it's ultimately just a smoke screen. Instead of listening to their promises, look at how much power they are asking for to accomplish "justice". This will give you some idea of the degree of dictatorship you will be facing when the revolution becomes a reality.

wow.... didnt we have this fight last year. and the dems lost.

and then, somehow, we're having the same fight again. as if like we didnt even have it last year and the democrats who wouldnt vote to raise taxes are somehow going to be more likely to do it now and the gop people who got elected because america was so angry about it all, they will be inclinded to support the pelosi position.

.... just wait, if we reelect obongo it will be another 4 years of re hash of first year when they rammed liberal entitlement spending down our throats and then acted surprised when the budget came in and showed us borrowing 40% on the dollar to keep those absurd unsustainable promises.

seriously 2 years ago we were talking about these same problems. class warfare redux has been going on for 3 years now and the economy has just been crumbling the whole time.... obama ROX!

So in theory, all Obama has to do is double the Bush tax cuts, repeal corporate taxes all together, mandate purchase of health insurance from deregulated insurance providers, kill every social program on the books as well as every single watchdog organization and we'll be in utopia in no time.

Since for the republicans to stay true to the rhetoric, they'll have to oppose every single one of those things, nay fight to ensure the opposite of whatever that smooth talkin' nigger wants.

And j. it truly astounds me that while you rail against socialism and government, you support one of the biggest social welfare programs the government ever put on the table..

NASA.
