i dont know exactly whats going on in europe these days but for all the haughtiness of europeans i think americans are way more tolerant than many europeans....

just the other week i read about them digitally removing the black couple from the wedding crashers poster for the european release because the pr firm thought it would be better for business.

does europe have some crazy undercurrent of rascism towards non-whites that i missed?

My point was there were non white Jewish people in WW2. Regardless, perhaps read the wikipedia link. Jewish people are not a race, they're followers of a religion, in literal terms.

Yes... It pretty much directly says that the only exception under which Judaism could possibly be classed as a race is as a "social construct" belief incorporated into your definition of race. Which it then goes on to state is subject to mass controversy...

The fact is, race is defined as genetic identification. Jews are not genetically different than anyone else, there is no Jewland where all Jewish people come from, is there?

Christians are not a race.
Muslims are not a race.
The Jewish are not a race.
No religion is defined by genetics.

the distinction between race, ethnicity, religion, etc is extremely subtle and dependant on the circumstances and the construct in which the terms are used,

thus rather than insisting i was totally right, i figured id direct you to a lengthy article which would hopefully expose you to some of those aformentioned subtleties...

Jesus dude, believe whatever the fuck you want. Read an actual book on the subject, not wikipedia, something by Gil Anidjar would be a good start. Educate yourself. Race is defined from scientific analysis, something that does not exist within religion.

all im saying is that it is a subtle distinction because in many cases a religion is made up largely of a particular ethnic group, and in some other cases the religion itself is distiguished by the nationality or ethnic background of the various groups from various ethnic backgrounds that all call themselves one religion. many times throughout history the terms have been used interchangably, and in many other cases they have been used, as you say, "incorrectly", in the literal sense, and thats all im saying. its one thing to say what is literally correct its another thing to describe actual circumstances in reality that dont reflect the literal definition and instead are based on the historical evolution and dispersement of peoples, thats basically all i was saying.

im taking an anthropology course right now, and everything you are saying is bullshit.

race is genetics. jewish people are not a race they are a religion. just like muslim people are not a race. or catholics.

theres nothing subtle to be said. its pretty well understood by people whos job it is to understand this kind of thing.

ps- mistreatment of muslims, or any religion, is not racism, its called 'prejudice.'
