Cops back down . . video.

This guy was wearing an exposed gun and was filming a cop giving a traffic ticket. When the cop said show me an ID, the guy refused, citing gun laws and the right to refuse giving up ID. The dude walked away from the cop and the cop's supervisor, giving them neither his name nor ID.

You know, I really appreciate the guys intent and his willingness to stand up for his rights, but really...

I wish these guys who do weren't such fucking assholes.

Can the police officer ask his supervisor for the rest of the day off without pay and exersize his first amendment rights as a citizen of the United States and tell this guy what a fucking prick he is acting like?

The cops did the right thing, they knew there would be a totally useless confrontaion instigated by this guy and posted on YouTube for no other reason than to make his little dick feel big, so they let him have his pissing match and went on to deal with other shit.

You have every right to defend your rights!

THANKS ^

If they had started the situation it would be different, but he started it, and it seemed reasonable that the cops would want to see his ID, whether he was obliged to or not.

I completely disagree with you.

Did you not read the thing at the end?

If we don't stick up for our rights that little people know about now, it will be harder for future generations...

Who cares if he didn't have a useful reason to be there, but I'm sure you've been a lot of places that you didn't need to be. Like on this computer right now.

If we don't have people sticking up for these rights that a very small number of people no about, we are going to lose them.

So Spank, where do the guys rights end and the guy in the uniform, the American citizen in the uniform, where do his rights start?

The officer was wanting to know what the fuck was going on with asshat, who walked up all camera rolling, strapped and confrontational and then skittering off like a crackhead when his girlfriend (fucking face it right now, if she wasn't sucking his dick he never would have left the bunker, period.) drives off only because he has to follow the rules he isn't allowed to slam the guy up against the wall and stuff the camera into his rectum with great force. Which is pretty much what he would try do to you if you walked up on him like he did the cop.

I can see it now...

Hey man, I'm just exercising my right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness guy just like any American.

"Oh yeah mother fucker, I'm gonna exercise my right to kick your ass!"

Know your rights, defend your rights when the need arises my friends but just going out and actively looking for the fight just so you can 'defend' yourself is pretty juvenile.

I'm torn in half on this one, No1 makes some good points, and I mean that cop had no idea why an armed person videotaping walked up on him, for all the cop knew that dude may have wanted to spray his brains on the pavement and put it on youtube.

On the other hand, he wasn't breaking a single law, and the police response to that was interesting, particularly when both cops started lying their asses off to try to get their way.

For someone who has a background in law enforcement/fucking with cops, they guy sure was nervous when he had to talk to both of those cops.

Really?

I thought it was sort of tragic myself. Here are two guys sworn to protect the rest (what about their right to be protected?) of Santa Fe and this one guy who thinks the world is out to get him and violate his right to be an asshole on the street. You are allowed to open carry in New Mexico, that's the law. You cannot open carry or even own a gun if you are a felon, this is also the law. So how do we tell who is the felon and who is the idiot in this case? Why it's simple, you show proof you aren't a felon and you go merrily on your way, unless of course you are a felon in violation of the law, then you'll go to jail. I guess I missed the part of the constitution where it says you only have to follow the laws you agree with...

He was not being detained and he was free to leave at any time which he did, without confrontation or abuse and they let him walk because guess what he was perfectly within his right to do so and the officers new that the only thing that would come from any type of face off would be 15 minutes of YouTube fame for this guy and nothing more so really, why bother. If they felt threatened at any time, the story would have been about the officer involved shooting and the dead suspect, neither officer took even the slightest defensive posture.

Meanwhile, while these two officers were busy stroking this guys ego, there was real shit going on somewhere that this guy is helping by keeping these guys tied up with his 'black helicopter' antics as another citizen was actually being deprived of their life, liberty or pursuit of happiness by people who really don't give a shit about you or your rights...

Cocksucker is in it for no one but himself, I did fine 'defending my rights' with L.A.P.D. in Watts at three a.m. six nights a week for fifteen years with no video camera and i didn't have to go hunt them out, they came to me and I can bet the L.A.P.D. I'm sure makes Sante Fe P.D. look like mall cops.

As in just about everything in life, you're going to get back pretty much what you put into it so really, I commend the two officers for not losing their cool and remaining professional when faced with an asshole with a camera, a gun and in possession of very little common sense. I will also commend these officers because I know that when someone takes assholes gun away from him and tries to or succeeds in killing him with it, they will be there to help find who did it and bring them to justice and holmes being a fucking prick to them won't matter.

Personally, in my opinion the guy really just needs a good beating, help him see the light of day.

Yeah well, that's because deep down inside he is a scared little man who thinks the world is out to get him specifically because he has spent way too much time sucking on the fear tit that is thrust into his mouth every night on the evening news.

Shit really aint so bad folks, no matter what the media tries to scare the fuck out of you with.

And I willingly violate that law at home, where I am no threat or danger to anyone else and am 100% aware of what will happen if I do get caught doing that very thing my dear so I do my level best to make sure I am not caught violating that statute, I certainly don't seek out law enforcement on the street and spark up just to show them i have the right to.

That would be fucking stupid wouldn't it?

Not to mention a waste of good weed...

Really?

Thats not really the way i see it. I dont think the guy was that big of an asshole. i think the point he was trying to make is that a lot of cops out there are on a power trip and WILL lie to you for whatever reason (Im not saying all cops but a good portion). He proved that someone who doesnt know their rights can and most likely will get taken advantage of. I understand that they wanted to know if he was dangerous/wanted but he really did not act in a dangerous/felon-ous way imo. He walked up on the cop towards the end of the situation and said in a non-threatening way "hey, whats up..." and then moved across the street.

In my opinion the cop could have handled it differently. He could have actually talked to the guy and actually listened to why he was there. Maybe he would have found out the this guy with the camera used to be in the P.D.

but anyway.... thats my look on it

In my opinion, mullet head could have handled it better, he could have sat right behind the wheel in his Mobile Command Post and filmed it from a safe distance since any audio that is recorded would be without consent and therefor inadmissible in a court of law as evidence without a proper court order.

Nope!

He felt it would be much more effective if he came out of the Winnebago and got into the action, maybe he could have been Rodney Kinged man, wouldn't that have been awesome! He'd be the envy of the trailer park...

You ever notice that there is always one guy who gets all stoned and acts the fool and does everything the uninformed masses thinks weed makes you do and you look at that guy and go man, what a fucking ass, I hope no one sees this.

That's how I feel about this guy, some places need some serious reform sure, some guys are just doing their job and don't need this kind of headache for no good god damned reason other than the perceived threat to his right to be a FUCKING ASSHOLE!

No, but i did stay at a Holiday Inn last night...

Look man, I was a repo man working south central Los Angeles, the south bay, Compton, Santa Ana, Watts, Willowbrook, Carson, Gardena, some of the 909. Some really nasty neighborhoods. I have been on the receiving end of countless felony stops where the officers first on the scene thought I was a common car thief. I was quick to listen to their commands, provided correct and valid paperwork and minded my attitude and never once in all that time did I feel my rights were violated and I always went home.

I just don't get how these guys scream about how the cops violate their rights and making sure that everyone is 'being held accountable' when the guys entire interaction with the police probably doesn't amount to a whole bunch more than this. He probably got popped for a bad tail light or out of date registration one day and the cop found his glass dick in the ashtray and he got busted for being stupid, now he thinks it's his duty to get them back for his being stupid.

Like I said, if someone needs to represent me and take on the mantle of do-gooder and fight the injustice in the world then someone should, I just would really rather it isn't THAT guy.

defending your rights is one thing, but this.... wow.

he went out to deliberately get into a confrontation with police officers. he (the cop) was just doing his job, and this guy (video man) starts hassling the cop... am i missing something? when was his individual civil rights ever in danger? oneder is right on the money. also, imo, alex jones is one of the biggest cocksucks that ever sucked a cock.

you're right, he did go close to the cop for no good reason. but then again it was an informational video. there's a lot of people out there that don't even know that those rights exist...

i mean those cops did not give up. it was really funny when he asked to leave if he was being detained and the cops asks for his ID.

But thats the point, he doesn't need a reason, he is legally free to do so. He didn't intervene with the officer, he was just a guy standing by taping a cop giving a ticket while carrying a gun(legal), like he said a few times he didn't commit any crime.

The cops approached him, FOR NO REASON, other than "you walked into my scene with a gun", which is perfectly legal and no citizen needs a reason to do so, they just can. And notice how the cops follow him as he walks, the cops intervene with this guy twice for the same issue after they told him he was free to go, they followed him as he walked peacefully down the street, but cop's false pride goes beyond that.

the constitution, that old text no one remembers, INFORMS to them our right to bear arms.

So yeah no1, the cop may have felt threaten by this citizen, but thats a risk he assumed when he signed up for the uniform, it comes with the job, he can't just go violating other citizen's rights every time he feels weird, like the guy asked, is the cop going to stop every person carrying arms and ask for ID?

And though I agree that doing this is pretty risky, I believe its the only way to deal with corruption, the problem is we should ALL start doing it, but no one cares, we just don't do it cause its risky.
