If you are a smoker it is ok - if you are not a smoker you must be ok with smoking because this facility has a smoking lounge.

I am looking for a certain type of character and someone who is hard-working. This is a pretty simple job, but competency to run a cash register, check and control inventory, be in control of the environment AND run errands is a must - and be here when needed is a must. THEFT IS IMMEDIATE GROUNDS FOR TERMINATION and we do prosecute right away. Please note that smokeshops have a wide variety of patrons with a variety of characters and habits - YOU MUST BE THE KIND OF PERSON WHO CAN COMMUNICATE WITH ANYONE AND follow simple direction. Noone with hang-ups or bias toward a persons culture or background need apply.

Right now, THIS JOB IS FOR THE SUMMER ONLY (with the possiblity of long-term employment). NO PHONE CALLS. COME IN PERSON ONLY TO APPLY 7 days a week 10am - 7pm. If hired you will be requred to provide a valid DL and your social security number. Starting pay at $7.55 per hour - no benefits. I think it's totally reasonable to expect all that for $7.55. I'm actually surprised they didn't ask for a degree in accounting or finance, as well for that kind of money.

The ad says "Drug test prior to hire," without explaining their expectations of the outcome. Given the nature of the business (legal under state law, illegal according to the Feds), I wonder if they'd hire you if you passed the drug test?

The guy running the ad is a complete hypocrite and moron. They promote that nice safe tobacco while telling anyone they are looking to employ they are drug free. Tobacco is the most dangerous drug known to man as it kills 500,000 people in Amerikka every year.

The second most dangerous is that nice safe alcohol, which they did put into prohibition for 16 years. Whatever you do though, don't smoke that dangerous marijuana. You won't be able to get this great job.

By the way, that was the gist of the e-mail I sent them and this is the response I got:

I do not want anyone working for my business that participates in ILLEGAL habits that may compromise the legitimacy of the business. PLEASE DO NOT WASTE MY TIME with these stupid responses. If you are anti-smoke - why even read the ad. Possibly you have no life! Find better things to do.
