Assassination :Rodolfo Torre Cantu: Why are drug cartels killing Mexican candidates?
Leading politician Rodolfo Torre Cantú murdered in Mexico | World news | The Guardian
Drug cartels blamed for high profile killing of would-be governor, who was tipped to win election in Tamaulipas Rodolfo Torre Cantú was killed alongside at least four members of his entourage when their two vehicles were ambushed yesterday morning, a few miles outside the state capital, Ciudad Victoria. They had been on their way to a rally in the final days of campaigning before Sunday's poll. Torre Cantú is by far the highest profile political murder associated with Mexico's escalating drug wars that have killed over 23,000 people since 2007. Nothing remotely equivalent has happened in Mexico since presidential candidate Luis Donaldo Colosio was killed in 1994. Tamaulipas is among the states hardest hit by the violence, with the death toll accompanied by extortion and generalised terror that ensures most local media no longer even report major gunbattles for fear of angering the gunmen. The local front is rooted in the rivalry between the old guard leadership of the Gulf cartel and the organisation's erstwhile enforcers known as Los Zetas who have since set up their own independent criminal organisation. According to Gonzalez, the assassination of Torre Cantú initially looks like an attempt by the Zetas to remove somebody they perceived as an enemy before he took office as governor. The state government of Tamaulipas has long been accused of collusion with the Gulf cartel. Torre Cantú belonged to the Institutional Revolutionary party, or PRI, which governed between 1929 and 2000. Since that date the presidency has been in the hands of the National Action party, or PAN, but the PRI still controls the majority of the country's 32 states. Rodolfo Torre Cantu assassination: Why are drug cartels killing Mexican candidates? - CSMonitor.com Gunmen opened fire on Torre Cantu’s campaign van days before the July 4 election in 14 states and one month after a mayoral candidate was killed in the same state. Caught between two cartels The murder comes as the Zeta and Gulf cartels battle for territory in Tamaulipas. While the PRI in Tamaulipas had enjoyed relative calm during the Gulf cartel reign, bloodshed has escalated with the rise of the Zetas, says Grayson, concluding that the Zetas likely killed Torre Cantu to prove they are the most “savage” crime organization in town. The assassination will likely hurt voter turnout by generating fear in the July 4 race, during which 12 governorships and municipal posts in 14 states will be decided, says Aldo Muñoz, a political scientist at Mexico State’s Autonomous University. The May 13 murder of Jose Mario Guajardo, a candidate for mayor of Valle Hermoso in Tamaulipas, near the border with Brownsville, Texas, reportedly scared off other would-be candidates in the state. Candidates will be affected more severely by this latest killing – increasing security or refusing to run – as they recognize that “whoever wants to be governor or mayor of an influential territory may have to negotiate with organized crime or risk losing their lives,” Muñoz says.

Zarqawi aint got shit on these guys
The american and other foreign countries including Isreal and France trained
and created the zetas. The America public and other weapons manufacturers supply them with the hardware and money ![]() Americas Sweethearts have turned into a self sufficient Frankenstein, and everyone is now shitting bricks. Mexican Drug Gangs Join Forces Against Los Zeta | Morrison World News Three Mexican drug cartels have joined forces to take on a rival gang in move that has fuelled bloody battles along the Texas border, US and Mexican officials have said. Officials from the Mexican police and US Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), said on Monday that reports indicated the Gulf and La Familia cartels – formerly bitter rivals – had formed an alliance to fight the Los Zetas in the Mexican border state of Tamaulipas. ![]() ![]() Censored News Page 2: US created monsters: Zetas and Kaibiles US created monsters: US trained Zetas and Kaibiles, killers and death squads worldwide Guatemalan Kaibiles, notorious death squads trained by US Special Forces -- known for disemboweling pregnant Mayan women in Guatemala and Chiapas at Acteal -- also have been working for the cartels. Both Zetas and Kaibiles have been hired as mercenaries in Iraq. Kaibiles were even hired as UN Peacekeepers in the Congo. So-called Peacekeepers have been killing and raping in Haiti, the Congo and Bosnia. (Photo Kaibil in Congo /Militaryphotos.net) The Zetas' original group -- the Grupo Aeromóvil de Fuerzas Especiales (Special Forces Airmobile Group, GAFE) -- is a special forces unit of the Mexican Army's Special Forces Corps, trained by the world's special forces. They are responsible for attacks on the Zapatistas in southern Mexico. Mayan Zapatistas are struggling in Chiapas for dignity, autonomy and survival as corporations, military and paramilitaries push them off their land and murder those who resist. ![]() ![]() Nice product placement? TruthAlliance.net > News > Mexican Drug Cartels Armed To The Hilt, Threatening National Security They were armed to the teeth. Their arsenal ranged from semi-automatic rifles to rocket-propelled grenades. When the smoke finally cleared and the government had prevailed, Mexican federal agents captured 540 assault rifles, more than 500,000 rounds of ammunition, 150 grenades, 14 cartridges of dynamite, 98 fragmentation grenades, 67 bulletproof vests, seven Barrett . 50-caliber sniper rifles and a Light Anti Tank (LAW) rocket. In Northern Mexico, high-powered American weapons have enabled drug cartels to control whole territories. There is the Colt AR-15, the civilian version of the military M-16. And there is the "cuernos de chivo" — Spanish for goat horns . . . the 30-shot curved banana clip of the AK-47. The AK-47, long the symbol of guerrilla revolution, is not the most accurate or technical assault rifle, but it gets the job done. It is the workhorse of drug cartels, and ammunition can come from a variety of world sources, including the United States. And then there are the sniper rifles. "The .50-caliber was interesting because we haven't seen that type of arm used in Mexico yet," said Scott Stewart, a former U.S. Army intelligence officer and an analyst for Stratfor, a geopolitical security firm. The .50- caliber long-range sniper rifle is incredibly accurate and dangerous; a trained operator could kill a human being with a round from well over a mile away. A favorite with the cartels, the Five-Seven has the advantage of being light: under 2 pounds, with a 20-round clip filled with bullets the cartels call "matapolicias' — "cop killers." "The 5.7 x 28, armor piercing (AP) rounds are not available for sale to the general public and are probably coming from the Mexican military," said Stewart who has analyzed U.S.-Mexican border security issues for half a decade. Theres shit like this all the time. Video Keyword: "Balacera" (shootout)

How can you be sure that those pictures are actually documented evidence of crimes committed by this group and not someone else?
Los Zetas was formed by 31 former members of The Mexican Army's Soldier Elite. Yes they probably had some training from America and the other countries you listed. When they were in The Mexican Army APPREHENDING cartel members. Then they DESERTED. That they decided to pursue criminal interests as mercenaries was their choice. They were enticed by the money. That's America's fault? Their personal greed? In picture 6, I see a man slumped over with a gun captioned 'Nice product placement' and you go on to quote how these cartels are armed to the teeth with Automatic Weapons supplied by the American Public and manufactured in America. However, at the end of this quote from 'Truth Alliance' the following quote appears. "The 5.7 x 28, armor piercing (AP) rounds are not available for sale to the general public and are probably coming from the Mexican military". In picture 7 there are four different firearms, which I presume you are trying to connect to picture 6? I know I'm not the smartest SOB around here, but it looks like dude is holding some kind of modified shotgun with a collapsable stock to me. The real giveaway though, is the size of the breach.I think it's also important to acknowledge '80% Receivers' which are frames that are not considered firearms until they are completely assembled. I am hard pressed to believe that Los Zetas isn't completely capable of the operations of the equipment needed to manufacture there own weapons with parts. The Ar 15 is one of the easier firearms to machine and assemble. Guns are no different than anything else. If you have enough money, you can get them. It also appears that there is a $5 Million US bounty and a $2 Million Mexican bounty for the current head (no pun intended) of the Zetas cartel Doesn't sound like they are sweethearts to anyone. It's terrible that things like this happen. That people who are otherwise not involved suddenly have their lives taken from them. Yes, this is horrible, but your post is not completely accurate in the way you portray it. |

It even goes on in Amerikaa. I have been beaten and robbed by the police.
