The hyping up of the russian spy case MUST be based on ulterior motives of some kind or another....

I mean if these people really were horrible and gathering secret intelligence , which it doesnt seem like they were, but even if they had top secret stuff, what is the point in having this huge overhyped trial and haul off right now?
russia might have gotten something really serious from these spies? oh u mean like a nuclear weapon

... wtf could russia have been trying to get that it even really matters all that much that they get it.

i think if these people spied they should go to jail for some time, dependent on the severity of what they did, but the idea that this is some crazy conspiracy to get top secret info by the kremlin is kinda ridiculous because none of these people had secret accesses or worked in nuclear plants or secret bases or anything.... so the question is, why would this happen now, after 20 years of it supposedly taking place, with all this crazy hyperbole about how bad the russian kgb "still is"...at the exact moment that our relations with russia appeared to improve, russia supported new iran sanctions, and they appear to at least be turning back towards good policies and reconciliation with the world.... it really makes u wonder , and almost be certain, that the people who set this into motion right now, must have the motive of reminding people about the "evil" ussr....and trying to spoil the raprochement.

theres plenty about russia to worry about, but these spies from what ive heard didnt do jack shit thats anywhere near a level important enough to interfere with some really important stuff thats going on bt the us and russia , like the new nuke treaty, and containing iran, and the israeli arab peace process.... to fight over some 20 year old spying ring is so bizare that i cant imagine how its not some bulshit thing from some one or another.

Obviously it's a ploy to demonize Russia *AGAIN*. The US has been using Russia as a scare tactic for as long as anyone can remember. Who is always the villain in the action movies? 90% of the time its the Russians. They don't want you to trust Russia, bottom line. That is what makes it all too convienient for our government to declare that there is a threat abroad and that for security purposes we are going to have to sacrifice more freedoms in the name of homeland security.

But beyond that it is, and always has been, obvious that WW3 will be aged in conjuction with the Russians, Iran/Afghanistan and N. Korea (near russia) and possibly China, though I would hate to think what would happen if China got involved.

Remember what happened in Georgia, Russian troops marching in there? This spy situation is just playing off of that move.
