Who's really the terrorist?

Mosque-Hating Rednecks Discover That Gasoline Can Burn Things

A new Islamic center is being built in Murfreesboro, Tennessee and this has scared a lot of white people, who think it will become a terrorist training camp. So, naturally, someone doused the construction equipment with gasoline and torched it.

The FBI and Department of Homeland Security are investigating the Friday night fire, which they are calling arson. The local CBS News affiliate spoke with the chair of the center's planning committee, Essim Fathy who said, "Our people and community are so worried of what else can happen. They are so scared."

Last month, Tennessee Lieutenant Gov. Ron Ramsey, who was running for governor but lost in the primary, had this to say about Muslims in America, and specifically the Islamic Center of Murfreesboro:

Now, you know, I'm all about freedom of religion. I value the First Amendment as much as I value the Second Amendment as much as I value the Tenth Amendment and on and on and on," he said. "But you cross the line when they try to start bringing Sharia Law here to the state of Tennessee — to the United States. We live under our Constitution and they live under our Constitution."

That's right. Tennessee doesn't need to worry about a 9.8% jobless rate, the state needs to watch out for the Muslim takeover which is just around the corner. It's no surprise when these things happen, especially when you have men like Ron Ramsey tapping into people's fear of The Other. Good job, asshole.

I'm wondering if the moderate rednecks will speak out against the extremist rednecks.

And God forbid...

We relegalize that dangerous marijuana so the unemployment rate would go way down. Not to mention the crime rate. After all, it is better to breathe poison and have $1.5 billion flowing out of the country on a weekly basis for foreign oil, which we are buying from MUSLIMS!!!!!:thebird :

Here is a simple answer to ponder...

In order to keep them from coming here and blowing us up, we sent a fuckload of us over there to blow them up.

Doesn't that make US the 'terrorists'?

The thing that caught my eye was 'White people are scared'.......

Aren't there White Muslims?

Are White Muslims scared of themselves?

What the ****?!

The Not-Others are the Others

Seriously. I support freedom of religon... BUT.....

I'm proud of this little redneck town up here in BC. There is a new Mosque being built down the street. With no troubles or concern.

Although I think some people are only ok with it "because there is a Sikh Temple in town they are ok with"... they "just can't figure out why they need another Mosque. They didn't know there were that many Sikhs in town."

wa wa wa.....

They are tolerant.... I'll givem that and are very cool with whoever is building it once I explain to them what religion is actually going to be attending Mosque.

In the source link, that phrase is linked to this:

Tennessee Candidate Unsure About Islam's First Amendment Protections

Hmm, how should a nation square its mainstream prejudice against Muslims with that damn "freedom of religion" right in the Constitution? Tennessee Lieutenant Gov. Ron Ramsey, currently running for governor, suggests that maybe they're not a "religion" anyway! Perfect.

Much like New York City, Tennessee is working its way through an odious, Al Qaeda-helping controversy over whether Muslims should be allowed to build a community center there. But perhaps we must sympathize with the raw feelings that Tennesseeans have over the events of 9/11/2001 that occurred hundreds or thousands of miles away from them.

We must sympathize with this man, for example, who asks Ron Ramsey the following question (starting around 3:10): "We've got a threat that's invading our country from the Muslims. What's your stand?" He's just got some raw feelings, you guys.

After explaining the background of the "Tennessee Mosque" controversy for everyone, Ramsey gives his "stand":

"Now, you know, I'm all about freedom of religion. I value the First Amendment as much as I value the Second Amendment as much as I value the Tenth Amendment and on and on and on," he said. "But you cross the line when they try to start bringing Sharia Law here to the state of Tennessee — to the United States. We live under our Constitution and they live under our Constitution."

He added in an email to TPM:

"My concern is that far too much of Islam has come to resemble a violent political philosophy more than peace-loving religion," he said in an email. "It's time for American Muslims who love this country to publicly renounce violent jihadism and to drum those who seek to do America harm out of their faith community."

Aww, he's just got some raw feelings from 9/11/2001. Everyone needs to understand. It's time for American Muslims who love this country to give him a sponge bath and some chocolates, as an apology, every day. Then maybe, maybe he'll let them keep their "Islam" thingy.

Freedom is a virtue for the individual, only. Beyond that, it's nothing more than a political buzz word. Be wary when forces of authority talk about making everyone free.

And when was the last time White Anglo Saxon Protestants were the "N"s" in America, exactly?

Interestingly enough my great great great great great who ever was sent to Barbados as slave due to religious oppression of the day in England around the 1680s.

My first instinct was to post a Native picture...then I got to thinking about freedom, and how it's imaginary like loch ness. The freest people on earth are still slaves...
