ok but seriously that was a rather long list with some pretty dubious "acomplishments" .

"paid for redecorating costs (removing the bust of churchil and replacing it with one of mlk...and other such stuff) out of his own pocket"

not too hard when u made 20 mil selling hope and change on tape and in paperback .

or ok, on an even more serious note

acomplishement number 900 or whatever - "instructed the dea to continue to enforce the federal prohibitions on marijuana regardless of whether voters approve prop 19 or not"

So you came back out of your cave to say what - nothing. Being predictable is a sign that you lack critical thinking skills.

Maybe you should take a vacation and catch up. I know it is the year of the stupid "Don't tread on me - take our country back" crowd. But really, I look forward to the republitards you seem to be apart of to take over The House and start showing their true colors. The Daily Show will be even funnier!

I see lots of scandals and in-fighting. Lots of stupid statements being made by stupid people, recorded, and played over and over again. With the internet, this will be the best thing to happen for the 2012 elections. Too bad real Americans will have to suffer through this joke of a "movement" that was bankrolled by corporations. It won't take long until even the most naive people figure it out and they all (again) get booted out. It is too bad nothing else will get done in the meantime. Sad that people like you think this is a good thing.

Okay, I guess we should stay in Iraq.

Give me a break. I thought you were smarter than that.

I believe his stance against Prop 19 is to appease the dumb-asses church going morons. I bet he changes this stance if he gets 4 more years as he will have nothing to lose and much to gain in taxes. Just a hunch.

First of all, the notion that Obama has increased the deficit more than Bush did, is misleading. Sure, under Obama's administration there were record amounts of money spent. But, there are a few major differences in circumstance that required him to spend a massive amount of money. While the amount of money needed can be debated, the idea that the spending of that money was not needed to provide a jolt to the American economy, is illogical.

When Bush ran up his deficit, it was based upon flawed ideology/economic theory that really has no basic in logic. The most obvious example is simple to understand: If you are engaged in two wars, it is irresponsible and economically counterproductive to cut taxes across the board. It simply does not make sense. If anything, you would raise taxes to pay for the wars you are in, if only to attempt to balance the budget. Anybody who were to argue this is delusional. You cannot increase spending by hundreds of billions per year and decrease tax revenue simultaneously, without willingly having a massive deficit.

When Barack Obama took office, there were already 4+ million jobs lost. Over 750K lost in the month he took office alone. It is absurd to assume that if a Republican like John McCain took office, he would not attempt to put through a similar agenda. Granted, it would be less extensive, but at the same time, less effective. Essentially, Keynesian economic theory works in this situation. Even a man like McCain would realize that the only way to save an economy that was contracting significantly, was to replace the non-existent private demand with a government-lead influx into the economy. The economy has been stabilized, with private job growth increasing steadily, albeit modest. But the fact is tax cuts alone would do nothing at all. If the idea were to simply cut taxes to create millions of jobs in the middle of a recession, we would easily be looking at recorded unemployment rates in the double digits nationwide. And at the same time, deficits with no benefit. Tax cuts, which would be the preferred alternative to Obama's policies currently do not work in this economy. Rather than cutting taxes for the richest of Americans, why don't we take that tax cut and apply it to middle class/working poor/poor Americans? Why is it that the richest people in America get the benefits of not paying significant taxes with regard to the proportion of their income? It is not a punishment. It is simple. You made that money in America, because of America, and you should pay your fair share FOR America.

Also, I find it amazing that the notion that Barack Obama opposed Prop 19 is somehow unexpected. Any President would do so. If they didn't they would be openly opposing federal law and would be heavily criticized. Needless to say, the President of the United States will never back the legalization of Marijuana unless their is a consensus among Congress that it's even a possibility of getting to the floor. I also find amusing, the fact that anybody on this site that speaks of legalization, can in the same sentence or point, support a Republican alternative considering almost all Republicans in Congress would never even CONSIDER the legalization of Marijuana. Indeed, most would never even acknowledge the fact that Marijuana has a medicinal benefit. In my opinion, those people need to wake up to reality.

With that, I will end, and enthusiastically await the rebuttal that will inevitably follow.

welcome to the boards GodDegree. glad to have an intelligent sounding person coming to join us.

i think you make some good points,

the thing that really grinds peoples gears is that class warfare if you ask me.
yes any pres would have been against prop 19, and probably would have lost more jobs (altho i think its pretty arguable that tax cuts or other republican style policies 2 years ago would have greatly shortened the recession instead of just blaming fat cats and starting class warfare), but the thing that pissed people off is how tone deaf obama was.

he didnt even seem to realize how much against socialized medicine many people are and were.... its his style, even now after the shelacking, he still is going on about how they didnt "teach" people enough and how its understandable that they would be "bitter and cling to guns" etc...

obama looks down his nose, and pelosi does too, at america.

on the one hand i kinda see where hes comming from, he wants to act cool and calm and not be labelled an angry black.... but the flip side is its not very endearing to americans to see their president act even more arrogant than bush.... he doesnt admit mistakes he doesnt even acknowledge that the reason the dems got so badly beat was because of their POLICIES...it had nothing to do with or almost nothing to do with how well they explained it.... you cant sell peanuts to someone alergic to peanuts no matter how well you pitch it....

obamas entire policy is ass backwards in the minds of many people, and it just doesnt seem to logically hold. he wants to take from the rich to give to the poor. but 1. that doesnt work, and 2. it isnt sustainable. so it doesnt actually work because the poor become dependant on the assistance and need more as time goes by, and it isnt sustainable because the people who worked to earn their money only to see it taken away are going to get angrier and try harder and harder to circumvent and vote out the people who are holding them at gunpoint and making them empty their wallets and take food out of their own children's mouths.

the entire ideology is flawed, so even a charasmatic dude like obama simply cant sell peanuts to people who dont want peanuts....

thats pretty much the situation in a nutshel if u ask me . no pun intended
