To be honest, I completely agree with you. Clinton was indeed responsible for many negative aspects that lead to the downfall of our economy. You also cannot disregard the repeal of Glass-Steagall. That decision was undoubtedly the most significant compared to any other. When you look at what actually brought down the economy, it can be directly linked to that act being repealed, under the watch of Clinton and Larry Summers, among others.

However, it was in Clinton's defeat in the midterms, where he began to consider repealing such things, and consequently enacted more conservative policies after he got shit on in '94. Either way, it all boils down to conservative Republican ideology not working. That was my point. Regardless of if it were put into place by a democratic president or a republican one, the policies still proved to be counterproductive in the long term. Surely, the republicans are not solely to blame, however, it is their ideology that they continuously support and enthusiastically promote that represents the failed policies that brought this economy down, and drove us deep into debt with no benefit whatsoever. There is no way around that fact.
