Censorship: The Aftermath of the First Thanksgiving

Censorship is suppression of speech or other communication which may be considered objectionable, harmful, sensitive, or inconvenient to the general body of people as determined by a government, media outlet, or other controlling body.

THE AFTERMATH OF THE FIRST THANKSGIVING

This is the time of the year when we are inundated with propaganda about the U.S. holiday, Thanksgiving. Recently, the History Channel showed its rendition. The same old story: weary Pilgrims were taught how to plant crops in the new land of America by some savvy Native Americans. Then, to thank the Indians and God, the Pilgrims held a celebration in Plymouth, Massachusetts. Everybody had a great time. This was brotherhood among human beings at its best. Then, the documentary went forward in time to the 18th century. What happened between 1621 and 1675 was completely ignored. Most U.S. history books rarely mention the fate of the Indians who helped the Pilgrims survive. continued...

While the DOJ lacks the power to shut down juvenile correction facilities, through litigation it can force a state to improve its detention centers and protect the civil rights of jailed youth.

The History Channel has dropped the ball a lot the last 2 or 3 years, focusing on more reality type programming than on the usual indepth documentaries that I love HC for.

That said, Desperate Crossing was based on the Seperatists travel to the America, the moral and spiritual issues that drove them to their decision. It didn't go deeply into the mistakes and bad decisions post- The First Thanksgiving, because that wasn't really what the show was about.

Which is sad, because the story of the 100 or so years after Plymouth Rock is really fascinating. Read Mayflower by Nathaniel Philbrick. He was one of the experts in Desperate Crossing. His book is a fantastic reference for the post- Plymouth Rock era.

Censorship is Lies

The History channel is owned by the same 5 korpses censoring alphabet channels. Censorship and/or Lies built this country. Same way they keep Ganja/Hemp outlawed. Guess you missed this part.

Now that the longhouses breed superstition
You force us to send our toddlers away
To your schools where they're taught to despise their traditions.
You forbid them their languages, then further say
That American history really began
When Columbus set sail out of Europe, then stress
That the nation of leeches that conquered this land
Are the biggest and bravest and boldest and best.
And yet where in your history books is the tale
Of the genocide basic to this country's birth,

Of the preachers who lied, how the Bill of Rights failed,
How a nation of patriots returned to their earth?
And where will it tell of the Liberty Bell
As it rang with a thud
O'er Kinzua mud,
And of brave Uncle Sam in Alaska this year?

Hear how the bargain was made for the West:
With her shivering children in zero degrees,
Blankets for your land, so the treaties attest,
Oh well, blankets for land is a bargain indeed,
And the blankets were those Uncle Sam had collected
From smallpox-diseased dying soldiers that day.
And the tribes were wiped out and the history books censored,
A hundred years of your statesmen have felt it's better this way.

And yet a few of the conquered have somehow survived,
Their blood runs the redder though genes have paled.
From the Gran Canyon's caverns to craven sad hills
The wounded, the losers, the robbed sing their tale.
From Los Angeles County to upstate New York
The white nation fattens while others grow lean;
Oh the tricked and evicted they know what I mean.

My country 'tis of thy people you're dying.

The past it just crumbled, the future just threatens;
Our life blood shut up in your chemical tanks.
And now here you come, bill of sale in your hands
And surprise in your eyes that we're lacking in thanks
For the blessings of civilization you've brought us,
The lessons you've taught us, the ruin you've wrought us --
Oh see what our trust in America's brought us.

My country 'tis of thy people you're dying.

Now that the pride of the sires receives charity,
Now that we're harmless and safe behind laws,
Now that my life's to be known as your "heritage,"
Now that even the graves have been robbed,
Now that our own chosen way is a novelty --
Hands on our hearts we salute you your victory,
Choke on your blue white and scarlet hypocrisy
Pitying the blindness that you've never seen
That the eagles of war whose wings lent you glory
They were never no more than carrion crows,
Pushed the wrens from their nest, stole their eggs, changed their story;
The mockingbird sings it, it's all that he knows.
"Ah what can I do?" say a powerless few
With a lump in your throat and a tear in your eye --
Can't you see that their poverty's profiting you.

My country 'tis of thy people you're dying.

If you read the book I referenced, you'd see that the Seperatists aren't shown in the best of lights.

So, the "korpses" you talk about: Bilderburgs, Tri- Lateralists, or Bohemian Groves types? Or is all David Rockefeller and the International Bankers?

If the information is so censored, why is it pretty much common knowledge that the Seperatists were less than good neighbours? Or is it not common knowledge, but known only to a handful of you that get your news from Mother Jones?

Never mentioned Bilderbirgs or Luminati or any other buzzword to discredit the point. No conspiracy ace, history not shown on the bogus His story channel. Censorship that any US school kid would know about, if it wasn't censored. Funny how it works that way. Logic says before the alcohol prohibition farmers distilled their own tractor fuel and after it remained illegal. The Rockefeller $5 million donation to the Christian Temperance League expanding their chapters to most states, even though they were all about temperance, not prohibition. Same as Lincoln. All we were told was Al Capon and Elliott Ness. With the number of speak easy's available to get booze who the hell would ever think we the people wanted it prohibited? Thats just naive. We had a Whiskey rebellion in western Pa for christ sakes. Americans love their beer and whiskey and have it since the repeal. Just not allowed to make tractor fuel and Standard Oil just happened to luck out I reckon. Coincidence? No conspiracy dude, same with Ganja/Hemp... outlaw the competition. Same with the Indians story. Weak cowardly censorship.

Al Capone and Watergate were red herrings to divert the countries attention from the Fascist acts of eliminating competition. Booze or Ganja//Hemp. While GOP and DMC continue to bicker over nonsense. Farmers still can't grow Ethanol or Ganja//Hemp. While GOP and DMZ continue to bicker over nonsense. Farmers still can't grow. Instead of safer re-creation, inexpensive FARMaceuticals, and Nutritious Healthy Organic seed and oil, strong soft clothing, linen and paper. Pot, RxGanja and Hemp are Gateways to prison profits and cop-shop bloated budgets. The choice is OPEC Hydrocarbon fossil fuel or Homegrown Carbohydrate Veggie Oil and Filler up with Ethyl-nol.

Never taught it or even heard of Separatists. But your view sounds like what the post says. They were thugs and the History books are without their story. Only thing I was taught was what the movies also taught. Savages were killed or forced into assimilating by your hero's. Probably not mentioned by your mentor Glen Beck. Americans are like the Borg. Good old fashioned imperialism. Guess Separatists were censored eh.

First the Pilgrims then then Puritans and then centuries of murder, slaughter, baby killing and edification of the records. Including future school books. John Wayne was gay. So skippy if you have a point or proof nothing was censored, bring it. I highly doubt if I will find your ref online so the chances of me purchasing the book is nil. You got some splainin to do lucy... if you have a point that is. Not that a book written by wealthy moneysluts would have anything close to the truth. Its not a liberal idea or whatever lame ass ref to Ma Jones was. Censorship is a useful tool to those wanting to remain in power. Your auto pilot denial speaks volumes though. Cut the buzzwords dude, I ain't buying nothing your selling anyway.

Listening To Native American Prophecies

Censorship is suppression of speech or other communication which may be considered objectionable, harmful, sensitive, or inconvenient to the general body of people as determined by a government, media outlet, or other controlling body.

The Columbus Project 03/14/00
Since Columbus hit the shores of Haiti, white people have taken whatever they wanted from the Americas. They came for gold and new trade items, they took them. They needed workers, so they took them. They wanted more land, so they took it. They wanted everybody to fear them and to generate more political power for their leaders, so they forced people to pray to the Christian idols. All that threatened this Christofacist conquest fell to bloody ruin. What did stand in their way? The Arawak, Carob, Aztec, Sioux, Apache, Tupinamba, Araucanian, and right here, the Iriquois Nation.

Never said nothing was censored, Jif. All I'm saying is most of what you said is common knowledge. May not be taught in school history books, but anyone with an interwebs connection and some interest can find all this out.

Winners of wars write the history. Always has been, always will be. But the truth is always out there, and frankly I think it's our duty as Free people to seek out that truth.

Do you seriously think no one but you knows that the locals on this continent got the short end of the stick? Seriously? We did the basic Pilgrem (aka Seperatists..you know...the ones you never heard of who aren't in history books) curriculum in Grade 3, which would've been about 1972 for me. It was all gone over, the good and the bad, albeit at a Grade 3 level. But the truth is, White Europeans won the war(s) for this continent. They wrote the history. Yet anyone with an ounce of knowledge knows about the Trail of Tears. Knows about the Lakota uprising at Wounded Knee. Knows about Chief Joseph and the Nez Perce trying to flee to Canada.

Yeah, Philbrick's a real moneyslut. Obscure historian writing about a fairly obscure time. I'm sure that book bought him a new Ferarri.

For all the imperialism Americans have, we sure have given back shittons of land. Japan, Cuba, the Phillipines, all of Western Europe. The French and the British were much better at colonization that we ever were.

It's telling that you got your education from the movies. Not really sure what John Wayne being gay has anything to do with anything, but you hold that golden kernal of truth tight to your heart.

Lincoln was about temperence or prohibition? Abraham Lincoln, right?

If all you learned about the Prohibition era was Elliot Ness and Al Capone, I feel sorry for you. It was a really fascinating time.

If everything you know about history came from movies, I'm not sure how you can blame censorship. It actually sounds like intellectual laziness on your part. Like I said, it's your duty to seek out the truth. If you're waiting to have it spoon fed to you, well, I have to go back to laziness.

The fact is, at this very moment, we have more access to knowledge than at any other time in history. It's literally at our fingertips. Yet you're concerned with what writers were documenting in the 1600's. You don't look at the historical context these people were writing from. You view it through the glasses of the 21st Century Man. Which says more about you than it does them.

With all this access, with the ability to bypass the history books, the media, the talking heads, the opinion makers, to not only seek out information but to provide opinion and information to the masses, the idea that censorship is somehow a huge threat is just silly. Of course it exists, but it's an excersize in futility.

But some people need a bogeyman...or bogeymen. If censorship is so all encompassing and ingrained in the world, there really isn't much that can be done, no? But I'd bet it makes you feel very courageous to stand up to these forces of darkness. Impresses the ladies no end, huh?

By the way, in the OP, which History Channel show about the Seperatists were you talking about? I've seen Desperate Crossing several times, and it's nothing like you describe it. While the Pilgrims may not be snaggle toothed and full of bloodlust as you'd like, they certainly don't come off as heroes either. Maybe there was a different show that I haven't seen.

And even more ironic that in a discussion about censorship that someone would say they "won't bother" accessing information. "My mind is already made up" is a form of self- censorship.
