Gizmodo - NASA Finds New Life

NASA has discovered a new life form—called GFAJ-1—that doesn't share the biological building blocks of anything currently living in planet Earth. It's capable of using arsenic to build its DNA, RNA, proteins, and cell membranes. This changes everything.

NASA is saying that this is "life as we do not know it".

yeah, son! It's about time we have evidence to tell us not to be so close minded when it comes to looking for life forms in space.

Although this will make it a lot harder; now instead of just looking for oxygen and H2O, we have to take all elements into consideration..

It says NEW LIFE, not NEW LIFE FROM SPACE. Putting NASA on the title makes people reach their own conclusions that its an alien organism or something like that.

In fact, the article states this new life was found in a California lake(mono lake), not in space by a nasa mission.

So in my opinion we are watching an evolutionary leap by an organism from our own planet, not alien life.

ok? I think we all caught that. As long as you actually read it, ofc.

But it does shatter our theory that phosphorous is essential in the formation of DNA, and life in general. So take this knowledge into our space expeditions, is all I'm sayin'.
