Recommending Marijuana DdC Denver Post
More reefer mad gossip only terrorizing more Americans. You have re legalized thalidomide as an appetite stimulant to avoid using cannabis. You never mention the tons of pesticides aborting babies, not used on Hemp. Non-psychoactive organic hemp that is scheduled a #1 narcotic do to gossip like yours. Millions of lives ruined by prison and job loss over hysterical drug worrier hypocrites. Before the lies concluding with the 1937 tax act kids and pregnant women used cannabis as a cough elixir and for nausea and as a sleep aid. You push speed onto kids for ADHD when cannabis provides a non toxic remedy. Sickening how cruel and sadistic drug thugs can be. Pitiful for anyone to condemn a physician for prescribing what is between the patient and doctor. None of your business and to even comment is proof you need to get a life of your own and stop persecuting Americans, especially expectant mothers! Denver Doctor Could Lose License for Recommending Marijuana A medical marijuana recommendation for a pregnant woman could cause a Denver doctor to lose his license. It would be the first time a Colorado doctor loses his license over an improper pot recommendation. ![]() Pregnancy and Pot By "Dr Kate" - Monday, August 31 1998 Pot can be safely used during pregnancy, and can help with several of the discomforts/problems associated therewith ? a fact little known by the medical community, and even much of the herbalist community. Pot while breast-feeding This suggests that a baby fed by a lactating marijuana user might be more likely to have a healthy, well-regulated appetite. There are several other studies of the effects of marijuana use on the fetus. None have shown any significant differences in functioning. Ganja mothers, ganja babies Marijuana during pregnancy The 30-day test showed that children of ganja-using mothers were superior to children of non-ganja mothers in two ways: the children had better organization and modulation of sleeping and waking, and they were less prone to stress-related anxiety. Marijuana and the Goddess by Chris Bennet, illustrations by Ken Lee ![]() Prenatal Marijuana Exposure and Neonatal Outcomes in Jamaica: An Ethnographic Study Although no positive or negative neurobehavioral effects of prenatal exposure were found at 3 days of life using the Brazelton examination, there were significant differences between the exposed and nonexposed neonates at the end of the first month. Comparing the two groups, the neonates of mothers who used marijuana showed better physiological stability at 1 month and required less examiner facilitation to reach an organized state and become available for social stimulation. The results of the comparison of neonates of the heavy-marijuana-using mothers and those of the nonusing mothers were even more striking. The heavily exposed neonates were more socially responsive and were more autonomically stable at 30 days than their matched counterparts. The quality of their alertness was higher; their motor and autonomic systems were more robust; they were less irritable; they were less likely to demonstrate any imbalance of tone; they needed less examiner facilitation to become organized; they had better self-regulation; and were judged to be more rewarding for caregivers than the neonates of nonusing mothers at 1 month of age. Dr. Melanie Dreher, reefer researcher Politics of Pot "... as a multipurpose plant, ganga is used medicinally, even by non-smokers. .... There were no indications of organic brain damage or chromosome damage among smokers and no significant clinical psychiatric, psychological or medical) differences between smokers and controls." "No impairment of physiological, sensory and perceptual performance, tests of concept formation, abstracting ability, and cognitive style, and tests of memory" "[Cannabis smoking] does not lead directly to mental or physical deterioration... Those who have consumed marijuana for a period of years showed no mental or physical deterioration which may be attributed to the drug." ~ US Jamaican Study 1974 Text of Jamaican Study on Prenatal effects Cannabis Prevents Brain Damage Dr, Grinspoon, a proffesor and head of phychiatry at Harvard, was sworn in and testified by telephone from his home in Boston. He was asked if there were differences between herbal and pharmaceutical medicines. He said that unlike herbs, pharmaceuticals are subject to very stringent standards of approval, primarily because of the devestating birth defects that were caused in the fifties by thalidimide. Thalidimide was a relaxant, as was cannabis, but cannabis had been removed from the pharmacopia in 1941 as a result of the reefer madness scare tactics and the essential banning of hemp with the marijuana tax act of 1937. Prior to that cannabis had been used as a sleep aid but it was difficult to get the dose right whereas pills made for consistent doses. Cannabis has not been shown to cause birth defects. There was an extensive study done in Jamaica with cannabis using pregnant women. The point is that herbs do not and should not require the same standards as synthetics. The Trial of David Malmo-Levine HIV/AIDS and Medical Marijuana Nutrition and Wasting by Brenda Lein In addition to adjusting eating habits and diet, some people find they need appetite stimulants in order to maintain weight and good nutrition. Many people believe that marijuana may be useful to stimulate appetite and calm the stomach. Smoking marijuana can be hard on the lungs so some people prefer baking it into brownies or truffles. Starving Babies and Illegal Food ![]() Thalidomide v Cannabis Thalidomide: New Results In January, a thalidomide developer, Celgene, of Warren, New Jersey, announced that the data from its trial in 99 people with AIDS wasting showed a statistically significant weight gain. The company seems to have "jumped the gun," as one person close to the trial put it. No data were yet available from the trial to justify Celgene's press release. Drug company rebuked for marketing thalidomide as cancer fighter In 1957, the drug thalidomide was approved for use in Europe as a treatment for morning sickness caused by pregnancy. Thousands of women took the pills, assured by the drug maker that they were safe. Unfortunately, the drugs had primarily been tested as a sleep aid for elderly patients -- not on pregnant women. By the time its tragic side effects were known, it was too late to help the than 12,000 babies born with severe birth defects. Today, it is known that even one capsule of thalidomide can cause devastating defects, including the development of flipper-like limbs. Yet, the Celgene Corporation has promoted the pill as a cancer treatment, despite warnings from the FDA. THE THALIDOMIDE TRAGEDY 02/13/04 Another example of animal research misleading science As reported in the British Sunday Mirror, the babies of six young men who were born deformed because of thalidomide have also been born with malformed limbs. Two of the babies have almost identical deformities to their fathers. Thalidomide studied as weight therapy 02/03/01 AA compassionate-use program of thalidomide for treating HIV/AIDS-related weight loss is now being offered by Celgene Corporation. Soros Monsanto Connection Wallstreet's Spontaneous Abortionists Conservatives have long asserted that Roe improperly seized power from the states to regulate abortion. Pro-choice cynics have asserted that this federalist position is one of convenience and not of principle. But those Congressional states-rights champions will have a chance this month to prove their commitment to both states' rights and pro-life issues. But will they rise to the challenge? Columbian school children sprayed from above 08/26/00 Pesticide Exposure in Farm Families Linked to Spontaneous Abortion The timing and types of pesticide exposures are critical determinants of reproductive outcomes, according to a recently published study by Canadian researchers. The study examined pesticide exposures based on recall by farm families and reported histories of spontaneous abortions among women living on the farms. The study found strong evidence that a woman’s exposure to pesticides in the three months prior to conception or in the month of conception significantly increased her risk of spontaneous abortion. Hemp can also be grown without the pesticides that are necessary for cultivation of other textiles and paper products, such as cotton which requires large amounts of pesticides and today is the most polluting of all agricultural industries. Cotton production, in fact, accounts for half the pesticide use in the US, and that product is one of the major products for which hemp could be substituted. ~ Ganja/Hemp ![]() Three million children receiving stimulant drugs for ADHD "Why would anyone want to give their child an expensive pill... with unacceptable side effects, when he or she could just go into the backyard, pick a few leaves off a plant and make tea for him or her instead? Cannabinoids are a very viable alternative to treating adolescents with ADD and ADHD" Pediatrics: W.A.M.M. has been documenting the use of medical marijuana for young people with multiple behavior disorders. My attitude is that if it’s an issue of doctors prescribing medical marijuana as a treatment for glaucoma or as a cancer treatment, I think that should be appropriate because there really is no difference between that and a doctor prescribing morphine or anything else." - Barack Obama 3.22.08 Obama DEA Nominee Pledges To Ignore Administration Senate decides it doesn’t matter who heads up the DEA "Michele M. All the years doctors spend getting their license, only to be revoked after such a stupid issue. Whats he going to do know? study something else? though invisible, we are all in chains, like it or not.
