"Worst person in the word- worst ratings in the world."

lol

it clearly says that he was fired because of the merger, not because of ratings

Sources connected with the network tell us ... Comcast honchos did not like Keith's defiance and the way he played in the sandbox.

Our sources say Keith has around two years left on his contract, and he'll be paid his salary -- around $7 million a year.

We don't know if Comcast will let Keith make a deal with another network as part of an exit agreement, but it's a good bet he'll be benched for a minimum of 6 months, and probably longer.
Shit like this is why corporations are evil.

I dont like what people like Rush Limbaugh are saying but at least I support his right to say it.

Final Countdown:
Keith Olbermann And MSNBC Announce They Are Parting Ways
huffingtonpost

In his final goodbye, Olbermann made a point to thank his audience for supporting him when he felt he could not continue the show:

There were many occasions, particularly in the last two-and-a-half years, where all that surrounded the show--but never the show itself--was just too much for me. But your support and loyalty and, if I may use the word, insistence, ultimately required me to keep going. My gratitude to you is boundless and if you think I've done any good here, imagine how it looked from this end...this may be the only television program wherein the host was much more in awe of the audience than vice versa.

Keith Olbermann On Lieberman: 'Good Riddance' To 'Delusional Liar' huffingtonpost
In the segment, Olbermann brought Slate's David Weigel on to talk about Lieberman. He asked sarcastically what problem Democrats could have had with Lieberman's domestic positions--"except for the estate tax, the Bush tax cuts, school vouchers, gay marriage, homeland security, the public option, the Medicare buy-in, privatizing Social Security and tort reform."--let alone his foreign policy choices.

Seriously, if I wanted to I could just throw the next gay guy I come across right up against a wall and give him an anal assault and he wouldn't complain one bit.

What did KO do that merited his dismissal, JFK?

There's a difference between inflammatory and inflammatory bullshit, and I don't really see much of the latter in his show.

What I do see is great potential for KO to reinvent himself and come out really swinging on his own terms.

I would never want to see Rush go, he's good fodder for conversation ....listening to his show is like one long bullshit alarm going off the whole time.

When I heard Olberman talk about obomba's increase of drone attacks as a good thing, I stopped watching him.

the tv is a box of fantasy and illusion, reality is not tolerated.

Should Keith Olbermann, Fired From MSNBC, Run For Office?
Andrew Belonsky :: Saturday, January 22, 2011

Now that Keith Olbermann and MSNBC have parted ways, should the news personality become a public servant?
