Are the islamic revolutions in Tunisia, Egypt and Jordan Iranian retribution for stuxnet???

A not too hard to imagine thought that just crossed my mind.

What do you think?

This is, like, the one thing Iran has, a bunch of keyed up people ready to go out and do crazy shit at the drop of a dime.... so honestly i wouldnt be surprised if they are at least trying to sustain and expand it, if they didnt actually start the Tunisian one.

no i think your imagination is taking over where more sober thinking should be. the only thing they have in common with iran is that iranians also spent some time oppressed by a corrupt regime that was allied with the USA.

ill tell you whats not hard to imagine: that these revolutions are among the unintended results of the policies of neoliberal globalization, and the effect of widespread corruption that goes beyond any individual goverment(s) but is spread evenly among all wealthy corrupt people everywhere.

grasping for straws much are we?

Funny how you say people go out and do crazy shit at the drop of a dime. These people have lived in fear of secret police for decades, so they drop of a dime statement, is quite far off. These people have lived in fear of their President and Government officials for decades.

However with all this Egypt is still a place where everyone is coming together right now as one, religion not mattering, all to stand up to a corrupt President. Fears of detention and torture are no more as they rise up for better living condition, wages, political freedom and against corruption. These are people from all walks of life. Not the crazy brown extremist muslims as you have painted them in previous posts.

so much fear and confusion in your little head

everything in j-wonders world that happens in the middle east is an attempt by the 'crazy people' to unite and fight america

it cant be because every fucking govt over there is corrupt and the people have just now reached critical mass on how much bullshit they are going to take from their dictators and actual progress is happening in the middle east

oh no...its the evil muslims banding together to fight the west!

i was also wondering, how and when did the egyptian regime become "corrupt" ? i mean im no egyptian history expert, but i do know something of its history.

isnt mubarak the legtitimate successor of a line of rulers that started with gamal abdul nasser? when egypt had (another) revolution to get self rule from the british.... since then, egypt has been ruled by egyptians....perhaps heavyhandedly at times, but jesus, when a president from the other party in ameirca pisses people off we dont ask for a revolution but a new election!

People are trying to make this seem like a us proped up puppet state, but actually the western backed state fell in the 50s, so just because mubarak saw the value in being a us ally, and not to mention gets billions every year for his people and army out of it, doesnt make him a puppet, he might be an idiot, independently of the us and its relations with him, but hes not our puppet in any way imaginable. i mean shit what has he done thats so great for america?

he's called a president yet he's ruled for 30 years and wins landslide elections every time

that isn't a president, or a prime minister or whatever

its prettttty open knowledge that egypt has been under a 'state of emergency' for the last 30 years which has allowed that dude to hold power so long. hes no different than any other dictator ruler in the mideast.

j you sound like you are talking about shit that you genuinely have no knowledge of.

i know this probably sounds retarded, but when i watched the anthony bourdain episode in egypt a year or 2 ago it seemed like egypt was a reasonably nice place to visit and explore... and this is comming from me, not some arab person.

check out the pyramids, eat a carmelized pigeon with saffron... .shit sounds nice.

and the people bourdain talked to seemed pretty highly educated and pretty upbeat about their society.

these events have a way of getting out of control, i dont know enough about egypt to say for sure, but it seemed to me like a lot of people in egypt were doing at least decently well in the last decade, and it probably was the recession and the shitty economy and the collapse of dubai where lots of egyptian expats worked that caused the society to get worse. my gut tells me this is more about economic problems than political ones. (but im fully willing to hear and conclude otherwise if shown good evidence)

Seems the left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing.

Edit- Don't worry, tourism will be a large part of Egypt's economy regardless of regime changes.

And am I wrong or isn't pretty well established he had a hand in Sadat's murder?

We always look at these things from a global perspective. We don't know what their local politics are like. They may well have as much or more to do with the Day of Rage as any outrage committed by the Great Satan and lapdog Zionist cohorts...or the Zionists with their lackey American puppets...whatever conspiracy you choose to believe.

Whatever it is, the locals are all pissed off at their current overlords. And we'd be deluding ourselves if we didn't think that the anti- West radical branch(es) of Islam aren't throwing gas onto the fire. Or at the very least watching with pleasure. I'm figuring lots of the former tho.
